OBDEleven Formentor - See below for working ones

Not sure on the relevance on this thread but had to scan and clear airbag fault today after fitting a dash cam ,the obd eleven picked up 26 total !!! did not even bother to read them just cleared the lot ,seems a lot of fault codes on a car with 150 miles on it .....i do believe this obd dongle pro is the best bit of kit i ever bought ,i got it back in 2016. ...paid £46

If you clear the lot you can study them as they (re)appear. Useful to eyeball them initially if you have things like an open circuit found (things not plugged in) or things that sound like engineering issues, valves etc. They should be read and cleared before delivery and fixed... not always the case thou. You get a frequency of occurrence which is useful.

probably not yet but when obd eleven get full access to the systems hopefully by November we should be able to.

Yes but unfortunately I have the 150 so if I could find it in the menu I guess I don’t have the hardware installed

Have a look in the engine bay. Right hand side under the scuttle plate. You should see a control unit there if you have a Soundaktor fitted.

This may be the subtle difference between being a cheapskate and not buying the pro license of Obdeleven or just trying to use micropayment apps. The soundaktor is a discreet module and if you had it would show up under control units. You'd know whether you had it by looking down the control modules shown in Obdeleven. You don't need to take the car apart looking physically for it... like taking your laptop apart to see how big the disc drive is . Properties tells you that .

Should be listed as Structure Borne Sound on the left in the control units. If not listed, you haven't got it. The mod via the Pro license is shown in post 9. I wouldn't waste time with the micropayment app side of Obdeleven that's only there to pretend it's easy but for complex stuff you dont know what its doing, and if it's wrong you can't un pick it as you can with the Pro license. Been known in the past that the "apps" don't work / go wrong. Sort of marketing stuff. The battle of the dongle apps (Carista etc), but with the Pro license you enter the battle of the VCDS programming tools. The big boy stuff . Think we have all run macros that fail if you use Excel...

Obdeleven covers both bases the dongle app market with the risks of when it goes wrong and the programming market that doesn't have risks, you can un pick going backwards from the history file. First is easy, limited by what app is sold for the task, the latter complete freedom but currently limited in some modules by SFD. Obviously can be slightly more tricky, but current mods for the Formentor are just changing check boxes as per Agnes' post above.

You cant program with the Carista which means it's app only. It does have it's fans but will never do what Obdeleven can do. The "programming" in Obdeleven 99% of the time is toggling boxes as the examples above on the Formentor. It's only when the byte editor doesn't have the text shown do you need to bother about bit and bytes (0-1) toggle top right of the Obdeleven screen toggles between the parsed text screen and the stuff that looks more machine code.

You do need the annual Pro licence thou for Obdeleven. If you already have the Pro unit from before they put in the annual license you are covered, licence for life, if a new user you need to get the Pro license unless you use the Obdeleven apps with the micropayment method, same as Carista.

To get the Obdeleven you can order it from Amazon online but pick the Prime UK seller with next day delivery since its being held in the UK warehouse then buy the Pro license from the Obdeleven site. @Agnes.Surrey got herself up and running on the same day, with an Amazon same day delivery service, bit quicker than waiting 6 weeks for it to arrive from East Europe.

I'm sure you saved with the bonnet up ?. Although mentioned a few time on the thread that's now required post SFD with 2020- cars. Failing that I'd try on the Obdeleven board.

Anyone else get the Beta with SFD unlock?I've got it but no idea what to try.

Their T&C's for the beta though say to only discuss on their forums, so might have to do it there
