I'm wavering, 3-months in and no wiser than the day after ordering it as to when it is finally going to appear. I have just found this Seat Tarraco DSG "in stock". It has all the extras (apart from the leather and rocket ship engine) and should be available within weeks rather than months :unsure:https://leasing.com/independent-brokers/vanarama/seat/tarraco/820348328/ https://www.seat.com/carworlds/tarraco/overview.html
I'm 3 months in to the exact day (Albeit a Cupra Leon VZ3) and today I had a confirmed build date (Week 34). So you have your SLI number?

I just pulled out the shotgun and gave the broker both barrels in a structured email. Low and behold I’ve been sent my SLI number. I’ll report back on what Cupra confirm.

In the meantime my broker gave me an interesting bit of background to share with you all below.

“There are a few factors which are causing delays and lack of information from the manufacturer.

The first is Cupra decided not long after the launch of the Formentor that they were going to implement a model year change which happens with every manufacturer at this stage of the year as they tool up for 2022 production. When this happens, they essentially close the doors for 2021 production and all the orders in the order bank carry over into the 2022 model year because the factory can’t produce two model years of the same car at the same time it’s just physically impossible. What happens then is the build weeks get pushed right to the back of the year until they can slot them all back in order of when they were originally going into build and this takes a bit of time to do so it’s not uncommon for us to see build slots go from September to December and then within a matter of weeks they’ve come back to where they were again.

The second big issue all manufacturers have come up against is the worldwide shortage of semi-conductors. If you know nothing of what a semi-conductor is type in “semi-conductor shortage” into Google and the first 4 pages and beyond are all different news stories relating to the problems not just the car industry but the electronics industry as a whole is facing because there’s a worldwide shortage of microchips. This has played a big part in delays in the motor industry because without the micro-chips they can’t build cars and without the factory’s knowing when the chips are coming, they can’t tell us when the cars are getting built. It's as serious as if we ran out of wheels, without wheels they can’t build cars. This is a problem facing every single car manufacturer in the world and not just a select few. It’s also affecting manufacturers like Sony, Apple, Samsung, you name it, anything with a chip in it is affected. The good news is although there’s delays with current orders, the pricing hasn’t been affected because you along with many other customers ordered before discount structures were reduced and we’re seeing manufacturers heavily strip back their support levels on a weekly basis because if there’s no stock cars to sell and there’s part shortages, manufacturers are all having the same thought process of why do we need to discount cars if we’re struggling to build them? Volkswagen Audi Group are having a price increase as of Monday and we’ve just had Jaguar Land Rover announce the biggest discount reduction I’ve seen in 8 years”.

First I called customer services on 0800 0497106 (Navin) and they told me they would only speak with the broker as there is not a direct contract with me (GDPR). So I tried the online chat and ended up with a call back and the person telling me I need to speak to customer services!

Use Facebook messenger and provide Cupra or SEAT with your SLI and wait for a reply.
