Right, so I’ve just come off the phone to the broker, the guy who actually sold me the deal. He sold 40 VZ2 310’s in 6 weeks - he was one of 16 sales people. There are circa 500 brokers in the UK. He said the discount on the lease cost was bonkers (you only get a top level Corsa for the same money now). Add to that the new model year and semi conductor shortage and there’s no rhyme or reason to the delivery patterns he’s seen. They normally apply a cancellation fee of £500+Vat on a standard car or £1,000+Vat for one with extras. Given the unique situation they’re waiving all cancellation fees. He’s added me to his weekly update list. So, I’m gonna wait.

Which company mate,I know leasing options were initially charging a grand on cancellation and I'm considering it to be honest.

dont see how any of them can as they are not fulfilling the contract as laid out .if you are told car October and they then say December that is not your fault.

Had a response from leasing options today ....I was told two weeks ago of a unconfirmed build of week 33 but now updated it's not going to be in build and can't give me a date....ordered mid may vz2.
So leasing options estimate of September when I ordered is going to be way off the mark,I honestly have no idea when it will arrive.
wow I was told the same about 10 days ago by them via email, I then went online to cupra and they gave the message that it was built and i asked for the VIn which they gave me ,I then went back to leasing options and asked WTF was going on ,,,,,I got a very swift response saying car was built on on the way ,,,no idea what they are playing at tbh. but i would go with what cupra tell you as the leasing companies are only updated via the suppling dealers.by the way you ordred the same time as me ,did you spec a special colour or anything....i just went white vz2 310 .

When did you order and through whom, was it a broker, dealer? I ordered the same spec (petrol blue nappa) on 13 May through a broker, UK Carline.

I ordered from a Cupra dealer on the 12th June. I was told by the dealer that they had a confirmed build date of week 33, and delivered by mid to late September. I went back to the dealer today after what the online chat had said, and they showed me the confirmation of the build date etc from Cupra directly, so here’s hoping 🤞

That’s only a couple of weeks before I ordered mine and was told by the dealer I should have it by December, although nothing been confirmed as yet.

Like my broker said, the builds are somewhat sporadic.

The build dates seem to be all over the place. Going by what others on here have said/ been told, I’ll not hold out too much hope on it being here on time.

I ordered from UKCarLine on 5th May (V2 Graphene Grey) with an original build date in August for expected delivery in mid-late September. Since then UKCarLine have not been able to confirm whether the car is still on track for September delivery (although their service has been spot on and they are generally very quick to respond to emails).

As other people have recommended contacting cupra directly, I reached out to the Cupra page on Facebook messenger, I gave them the SLI number and they were able to give me an unconfirmed build week of week 37 (w/c 13th Sept). So based on this if I added a further 4-6 weeks for shipping, clearing through customs etc I wouldn't get my car until mid to late October which is a month later than expected.

Just to give an idea of the overall delay... the original lead time from order to delivery was expected to be around 20 weeks, and is now forecast to be more like 25 weeks.

If its useful to other people, I've been told by cupra as well that build dates are only CONFIRMED 1-2 weeks before the actual date. So if you've been quoted a build week that's still some time away bare in mind that the dates may be subject to change.

Also, we all know about the change in spec from MY21 and MY22. Ive been told the change happened in mid-July this year in the factory, and when this happens, the factory closes production of all MY21 cars and tool up for MY22 production. At this point all the previously allocated build weeks get erased and are reallocated based on when the original order was placed and accepted by the factory. So if you have an ongoing order and haven't heard from your broker/dealer since mid-July I would recommend getting in touch with them to get an update.

Hope this might help to a few people....

Thanks for the research and the post. I was told yesterday that I have a 'confirmed' build week of 32 (next week!) and to get back in touch on 23rd August for a further update.

It seems that the V2s have been pushed back at the expense of the VZ2 model. I ordered my VZ2 on 25th May and was told an expected delivery date of 30th October. It seems I may be getting it quicker than that now. Judging by other peoples experiences with the Formentor that seems fairly unusual.

I ordered 8 days after you with UK Carline too and they initially said 16-18 weeks, then reverted to saying October since mid June. I agree, they respond promptly to any enquiries. The sporadic model and spec production makes sense and is consistent with JLR. The whole production line is sequenced based upon the build slot, they have different models and specs running down a single track it is incredible to see, especially when you consider that parts are not warehoused on site (just imagine the complexity of the logistics to have each component manufactured off site, arrive on time, placed in the correct order at each point on the production line). They go absolutely nuts when the line stops because the ripple effect to logistics and the component supply chain is massive. If you consider the maths offered by my rep at UK Carline, he suggested 10k cars were probably ordered over the 6 week period that the discount (roughly 31%) we bought through was available; multiply that by the number of major car buying countries across Europe and you end up with a very big number.

Contacted Leasing Options this morning and got the SLI. Spoke with Cupra chat who confirmed a build date of week 35 (w/c 30th August) and that it will be MY22

I just got my build day from Cupra UK using messenger and it's week 37 (16th Sept). How long after this would the car be in the dealership.

I got my build this morning too and is provisionally week 37 (13th September) the week before you. When did you order yours?

After its built it’s normally 4-5 weeks until delivery I’ve been told. Once your build date is properly confirmed, CUPRA will also be able to give you an estimated delivery date.
