Right who are you... One of you must be on here. Travelled up to the lakes for the day from Preston. First one near South Kendal on duel carriageway about 11.15 am. I looked in my rear view mirror and saw the black VZ2 bearing down on me. Put my hazards on and received hazards in return, gave them a couple of flashes from behind and followed for about a mile before they turned off.

Second half an hour ago around 4 o'clock, the were on the other side of the motorway going northbound on M6 near lancaster

Been up to Millom and Maryport today at work.
Seen 3 formentors (and a mk1 Leon Cupra)
First one at about 04.45 heading north on M6 near Lancaster, a grey one.
Then a matte blue one on the A66 heading towards Maryport from the M6 and a red one on the M6 near junction 40.
They all looked great.

Should have let me know you were up my way. I’d have met you so you could have a good look around my Formentor.

So have had my VZ2 since Monday and loving it. No issues so far apart from a couple of spurious KMH readings which correct themselves within a couple minutes.
One thing I would like some input on please, I have yet to set up my driver profile, currently I am just driving as a “guest”. From an everyday use point of view, my radio stations are remembered. My phone is automatically connecting. My driver mode settings and individual settings are all remembered when I get in car. So my question is, what am I missing by not setting myself up as the primary user/driver?
I haven’t used CarPlay yet so apologies on advance if this is an area where setting your profile up is key.
Cheers.

Biggest difference i found with setting up the profiles is if its more than just you driving the car.

Both me an my fiancée regularly swap cars, so the profile an key link together so that all the settings you've mentioned as well as seat position and mirror position carry accross. Just makes it a lot easier not having to change everything around all the time!

Also looks quite cool to me when you open the door an realise the car is in the process of moving the seat to your position!

That’s genuinely a fantastic feature.

I’m in Manchester and to be honest I’ve seen 2 on the road in four months. Admittedly I’ve seen one of those, two or three times. But only seen 2 different ones. A girl in my office says she’s seen a couple out Warrington way. 😆 it’s like a where’s Wally 🤣🤣👍🏼
If your passing though Middleton you’ll see mine.

Quick question.. I haven't had a new car in a few years, and my BMW came with a service book when i bought it then. Did anyone get a service book with their formentor, or is it normal for new cars not to have one? Thanks

No service book only a handbook. The service history will be on the franchise dealers computer when serviced, it was the same with my Bmw

I’ve used revive a couple of times, on my Stinger. I think you are local to me, 01772 950841.

What are they like with Diamond Cut alloy repairs?

I’ve just had a scuffed front wheel done locally in Hampshire from a seemingly reputable company and they made an absolute pigs ear of it.

They fixed the damage alright, but the lathe left a dimple toward the centre-end of a few spokes, like it had a sudden step-change in height as it cut inward. They then used some horrible paint/lacquer which left the black part of the wheel a strange milky-matte grey colour that you could spot from a mile off compared to the rear wheel on the same side… I pointed it out and they agreed to find an alternative and redo it.

They got the colour right the second time, however the silver spokes were poorly masked and there is clear overspray (wobbly lines). They also removed the black line of paint around the rim and said they couldn’t do anything about it… Finally, the lacquer itself feels slightly rough to the touch like fine sandpaper, compared to the perfectly smooth factory wheels - feels horrible when cleaning!

In the end they had the vehicle for 8 days and I couldn’t leave it any longer. They charged me £126 and said I’m welcome to book it in again for a recut and paint for free, but honestly I’m not sure I can trust them again. I’m keen to know anyone else’s experience with diamond cut repairs and how much you can expect them to resemble the original factory look & finish… i just couldn’t believe the shoddy workmanship and complete lack of attention to detail from so-called professionals. The fact that I pointed out mistakes after each repair and they were so blasé about offering to re-do it just beggars belief.

I had two repairs done, one recut and the other a manual. I was surprised they recut it as it seemed minor damage to me. You can tell if you get close up and compare the tool marks, the tiny grooves the tool left don’t match the existing wheels. I’m an ex machinist and all they had to do was turn the feed rate down. I would give them 8/10. They didn’t need to colour match just a couple of coats of lacquer. I can’t say what it cost as I had damaged wheel cover.
