Beats Audio? Formentor

Hi Guys,

Have just ordered my VZ2 Formentor, I have seen in a few places that it comes with Beats Audio but cannot find it anywhere on the Cupra site.

Beats Audio is an option in continental Europe. Not sure whether VZ2 has this as standard. I can see that in the configurator it is not an option.

I think it has been dropped from UK spec. One things for sure the standard sound system in my car is very good, better than my previous BMW and Audi, better than the wife's Ford, just saying.

You've got standard sound system? Do you have a spare tire? I know that when Beats is installed, there is no room for spare tire but haven't seen it confirmed whether spare tire gets provided without Beats.

The VZ2 has a spare emergency wheel but no Sub hence no Beats System. Its not available in the UK as i asked when ordering mine.

Don’t know how im going to feel moving from my Cupra 300 with Seat Sound to a standard system.

Looks like spare wheel is standard in VZ trim (with standard audio) and optional in normal trim. Oh, I get it, Brembo brakes are too big for a spare wheel. I've just swapped out of an Audi with high spec audio and I don't hear any difference in the standard Cupra audio in my VZ Edition. I doubt you'll be disappointed?

I'm not in the UK. I was confused. In some reviews they mentioned a spare wheel, but couldn't figure out why some people without Beats Audio did not have it. I know the reason now, Brembo brakes are too big for the 18'' spare wheel so that's another option that removes the spare wheel.

I've ordered my car without Brembos or Beats Audio, hopefully I do have a spare wheel. Find it more comforting than some tire repair kit.

I hope standard audio is not tragic, if it's average, it's fine. I would rather have spare wheel, than subwoofer in the boot. Spare wheel as standard on UK VZ2 spec was nice surprise, as most manufactures phase it out and you have to pay extra to get it back.

I went through 3 cars with Bose, 2 or 3 with Harman Kardon and one with Dynaudio. I'm not sure if HK was better than standard Merc audio. In one car I bought, it was switched off in menu, so there's a chance first owner didn't even use it.

Just a piece of polystyrene, but I know some have polystyrene and some don’t.

I have Beats Audio on my Formentor, and that's exactly how the subwoofer is installed. inside the spare.

I haven't tested it properly but on first listen, it seemed to be slightly worse than audio in last generation Leon. I'll need to do a proper test to confirm.

One upgrade I can tell is call quality. On my end and on the other end of the call, audio is much sharper and easier to understand.

I tested standard audio on my usual set of music and conclusion is: I won't listen to Satriani in Formentor, because it doesn't sound right. Other music is ok.

I haven't tested call quality yet.
