FR key cover

My chrome piece arrived today - same problem as i had with the T-Cross - it doesn't fit without modifying.
When you try to slot it in place it wont slide far enough so a bit needs cutting off (i used a dremmel) - you'll see which part but i've attached a pic showing the part - hope this helps

VW part so probably made to not fit the seat key maybe.

need to buy a dremmel now

Yep nice and snug fit. Be careful with the old screw as a new 1 wasn't provided with my new chrome (always had a new 1 with previous ones?) - easy to round off so i used trusty dremmel to cut a slot so i could tighten it all the way down with a screwdriver

I bought a couple of these VW chrome bits for the keys for my wife's Polo just after I bought her it new, they only cost about £7.50 each (a guess) back in 2015.

I fitted one to my key, let her see that, she, being a woman, picked it up and said, "no thanks, my handbag weighs enough already" so that was one "gift" that was not graciously received!

Only buy genuine Seat accessories.

Messed it up a little as when peeling off plastic it peeled the sticker bit instead. Can see little lift on one edge.

I encountered a similar issue - one side is lifted but strangely it was the side that I prepared correctly! I think it is a bit of a flawed process to be honest, as so much precision is required to get both sides to be aligned and stick across both the joined edge and unjoined edge.

I've done some precision work with epoxy gorilla glue to stick down the lifted side - time will tell if it has been successful...!

i think the actual cover is at fault. like 0.5mm out or something.
