Yep, that one. Discovered it on a Golf IV, Golf VI, Passat, had it on an Altea (this one with sunroof) and missing it badly. On Leon was a quick trip to parts department and ordering one... don't know why but sometimes came and others not is a handy and convenient way of storing sunglasses when you don't carry them (or a backup set of prescription glasses).

Does the Formentor have a small compartment on the left side of the wheel? I used that for sunglasses. Not as cool as the one in the roof, but it worked just fine.

Nope, no place for smuggling sunglasses... Sincerely, love the car, love the line but I'm starting to believe seriously that the car left some rough places that need a re-thinking and some polishing.

They need to leave some rough spots for a redesign in 2023. :D

I'll look for a suitable part on ETKA this weekend and see if I can do some 'Bricolage'. I'll check for the usual suspects and see if they have on a suitable trim code the part. Maybe a 'how to' is incoming.

Hi fellas, just discovered this morning a bit of squeaking from my brakes especially the rear. Is this to be expected having only had it a week?

@Peyton @Maypack after some quick checking ETKA for the usual suspects (Leon KL, Karoq, Kodiaq, Tarraco, Tiguan and other MQB based cars) asked a friend who works in the parts dept of a VW dealer and he said... no luck with.

Seems that MQB based cars have the sunglasses holder on the central roof console (like some Passat models had and others). That place actually is used for sunroof controls and others (handsfree mic and others) so... no way to cramming a sunglasses holder there and in the old place, and in the grab handle location interferes with the deployment of curtain airbags so they moved it...

So, seems that no luck for us and sunglasses need to be tucked elsewhere.

I've found the compartment under the armrest fits my sunglasses quite nicely, although they need to be kept in their case, but they're still relatively 'handy.

I'm interested to hear your experiences/ thoughts about the exhaust pops and bangs. I've driven my car pretty conservatively so far and am still under 200 miles. With videos showing the pops and bangs come around 3k revs I was interested to hear if any of you have experienced them? I'll be honest a couple of times I've strayed over 3k revs but only to about 3 1/2k and come back down but not noticed much noise.. when I've got some mileage under my belt I will have a bit more fun revving it in neutral
Once you have a few miles on it it does change. More prominent with gearbox in sport obviously.

Has anyone disabled the automatic locking which activates when driving. It mentions in the manual how to deactivate, but following this I don't seem to be able to find the correct settings menu.
Thanks
It’s in the exterior section and then central locking.

I’ve just taken delivery of my V2 and struggling also. On the motorway it just slammed on?
im trying to work out if you can turn Lane assist and ACC off permanently, as it seems to reset each time you restart the car?
I have a shortcut on the screen.

I've only just realised the rocker switch on the indicator stalk!!! Press that and you access your assist systems without having to go through infotainment! I didn't see it at all. Slight annoying thing is after fiddling with it it puts your digital cockpit into the 'night mode in the centre of the dash' so you have to toggle back through to the view you want
Looked in the manual and don't see this rocker switch shown in there? Got a photo?
🙄I'm quite sad really as have been poring over the online manual while waiting for delivery (6 days now 😉)

Sorry when I say rocker switch it's not like in my Leon where you press the top end of it to go up and the bottom end to go down etc. It's a button on the end of the stalk that you press and it brings up your assistance systems directly on your dash

Havent used the navigation much at all but if you have maybe you have the answers for this.. on my old Leon when you typed in a destination it gave you option of 3 routes.. quickest/ least distance/ most economical. I can't seem to find this on the formentor? it just gives me one route so you don't have a choice, I loved being able to choose scenic routes etc instead of just quickest route usually motorway driving.

My wife has a 2019 Arona and she gets the three choices of route, but this hasn't come up on the Formentor, so presume this isn't part of the Nav offering? You can add stopovers, and I used this on my last Nav system to direct it off the direct routes, or simply ignore the instructions and it adapts to where you're going without much stress.

Yeah putting in stop overs I guess is the best way but I just liked having the choice as for example going to lake District from where I am could be a nice scenic route rather than blasting up the motorway

One thing that could be improved are the shift paddles, a bit too short for my liking. I feel like I'm having to reach around quite a bit with my fingertips to have a good firm purchase on them. Best way to do it is to hook your thumbs into the steering wheel for your grip. Would prefer it if they came out from behind the wheel a little more, that is me actively trying to be picky mind
