I think that I will raise a complaint to my local SEAT/CUPRA Dealership and see what they have to say about this joke

Your pictures show that you were using the newer connection protocol UDS/ODX/ASAM.
Try to connect with the old protocol and you will see that the Byte data is like mine and contains more data.
It actually appears to contain less info on this screenshot but all the others have zero difference.

Hi, small update...

I've contacted the local SEAT/CUPRA dealership and raised the question about Why do I and some other owners have a standard SEAT Ateca image in the infotainment while other have the CUPRA Ateca image.

They've outright said that this is not possible, and in order for them to check this they need proof and VIN numbers of the reference cars I've crossed checked it with.

@BoyRacer - I was wondering if you could please post some pictures of your infotainment screen (the whole unit like I did) showing that there is an actual CUPRA Ateca image and possibly your cars VIN number ?

(reckon it's because your Cupra Ateca has the standard head and the UK ones have the high. They haven't got the image in the standard units.... I got the image in my high unit with fairly recent firmware and not a Cupra Ateca if is set as above.... whilst we are at it you might want to check those navigation FECs on the high to see whether in the UK you have been blessed with unlimited life ones as those in Europe... I think not but worth checking... the check is here with the conversation.

It's the ready reckoner link, rolled out to Cupras in Europe so it appears in 2019... but you never know... saying that I think I know the answer

Is there someone with a CUPRA Atace that can post some pictures of their infotainment (vehicle status) screen ?

I'm starting to feel lonely in the CUPRA Ateca forum. therese like only 4 people with this car that I know.

I'd be as bold to say that even if I did post the photo you require, SEAT or Cupra would still not do anything to resolve the missing image.
Then again, maybe you could just make a copy to put over your screen! ;)

Well it's what they have left out of the standard infotainment units firmware that's the issue. Perhaps putting it in the Ateca Cupra was an after thought. It would be a firmware update to fix it unless the image is stashed in a differemt address place to the high.

Well, you could just post the photo and give me at least a fighting chance with them.

But you chose to turn it into a joke.

Thank you anyway, I have managed to find the required images elsewhere

I see that my feeble attempt at humour was not taken in the same manner in which it was intended. Ah well....

Please dont get me wrong here.
I have received the humor in the way you have intended

What I have failed to understand is why you chosen to not post the photo

Because I have clearly stated that I need your help due to the fact that I have made contact with Cupra and they are requesting the proof image.

The solution is going to be the firmware release of the infotainment unit. What's your release Yanivkoval. 515 seems to be the most recent release on the standard unit. If yours is a lower release you could ask one of the people on the software update thread with 515 and VCDS / Obdeleven to turn their car into an Ateca and byte 18, decimal 10 code into the field to turn it into the Cupra version and search for the images.... just in case it was a known spec fault and fixed or anybody reading this thread with 515. Or could insist that if lower number your dealer upgrades you. The images if they are to appear will be in the 5F firmware, its whether they have left them out by accident or design. The 10 code toggles them all not just the boot up screen. How the high works so the standard will be the same. It's the only way it will be fixed is for Seat to have the images in the firmware.

Post 31 on the thread where I used Boyracer's long string to identify the code and turned my standard Ateca into a Cupra Ateca. If yours isn't 515 firmware you need to get some one to try out whether the images are indeed in 515. Your dealer could do that if they had that most recent firmware.

Hi Tell
My infotainment is deffently on the last firmware you've mentioned.

CUPRA Global customer care are currently looking into this. I will update once I have an answer from them...

Hi, Like I've promised, I have been in contact with SEAT/CUPRA about the wrong image in the infotainment.

After a month of back and forth emails proof images etc, they've acknowledged the issue.

Their final email has stated "quote":

"After the necessary researches with the appropriate departments, we inform you that we will provide our customers with a software update that will correct this issue. This update will be available during the first half of the 2021 in our Authorised Services."

Never give up

@BoyRacer - And you said that they will not do anything about it.

The right words and persistence do the job very well.

Glad you’re getting this sorted but does it really really matter
Also, where I leave the CUPRA Ateca costs 74,000€. And I really think that anyone who is paying that amount of money would be mad about this too. This is so called premium brand, and they need to make everything right and step up their game. My personal opinion.

(y) Glad you got it sorted. That will be a firmware update. Think we are at 515 at the minute from memory on the standard. MIB2s are pretty mature now as they move over to Mib3 so that will probably be the last release of the firmware if they don't find any other issues.

I’m not sure where the Cupra brand sits at the minute it is too new to be classed premium right now.

hard to say what area it is but imo doesn’t have the prestige to be classed premium.

my old leon fr had a leon cupra as the car on the screen. Made me feel sad everytime i seen it and like a cheap skate. It was like this is what you could of had
