SW update for MIB2 infotainment system?

You wouldn't be trying to sell something on the boards would you... there are rules. It's easy enough to re copy back the overall.nds file no sweat. You didn't actually provide the answer to the original poster but gave them a link to the "latest" files that would only work if the unit was married up to the 1430 November 2019 release. Highly unlikely that it would be if it's second hand car. It falls into the category of lost and stolen cards if the unit once worked and then follow that... it free.

I thought I'd let that pass ;). @Walone the expert on the infotainment firmware especially mib2 high I reckon, never done a firmware update but I've done plenty of navigation ones which are common to the firmware. Resisted the urge to mess my unit up by playing with the firmware just the maps although on a high can be fun, less dangerous on the standard which was the subject (like an old computer with a card reader or tape drive get it wrong and it won't work, get it right and it will, mess the firmware up and mess the car up - the difference between map updates and firmware updates).

Thus this thread and the navigation one. This question actually appeared on the wrong thread since its a navigation one rather than firmware.

Apologies if this has been asked before but looking to see if there any updates I can do to the software on my 14 plate MK3 Leon these are the software numbers. The sat nav is ridiculously out of date but I believe you can only get them from the dealer right?

Wow, what a long running thread. My car has been in to the dealer today for its service. I asked about firmware updates and they told me they check and update everytime it's in. Call me a pessimist if you like but 3 years ago someone posted the same details as my system is showing so... Could someone tell me how I check for updated firmware on a unit with these details.

Device 5QA035858A
Hardware H31
Software 0363

In not interested in the navigation updates I use android auto for all that but its this the latest software for the infotainment system?

Pmac2k you forage threw the Spanish thread mentioned in the thread, I guess looking for 368 now... that is where the thread was getting it's info from and standard firmware downloads from memory. The firmware for the units isn't sold onto customers. It's only offered by the dealer where there is a software bug which effects the functionality. Not provided free where you fancy your car looking like the layout of newer firmware now fitted... for that DIY or retrofitters. A case in point is they colour coded the display of the Ateca to match the chosen interia side lights circa 2018 models on the high unit atleast. Nice touch but I wasn't told. Only got that when a retrofitter upgraded the firmware. Like the engine management software you get a free upgrade if a fault is found. Pretty screen colour coordination of the screen to the interia lights isn't one. DIY beware thou... never did a firmware upgrade myself but there will be pitfalls, VCDS programming I'm sure since stuff defaults back.

Thanks RCupra. There have been some little bugs with AA, Screen corruption when running maps and random disconnects that you need to do a full reset of the unit to reconnect.

Thanks for the information Tell, I've not ventured into changing anything on the car everything is pretty much default bar radio station preferences.

Might it be best if I look for someone that offers an update service or is it something similar to updating your laptop bios, tricky, Potentially bricking your head unit but doable? I'm assuming the forum I'd be looking at is the clubseatleon one.

Believe it's that one. I had a long read one afternoon and people on this thread know how to do it. You need to pay attention to how the FeC licenses are carried over. It is like updating a bios, router firmware, one way ticket if it goes wrong etc.

I see there are YouTube videos.... as said never personally touched a firmware update.

I updated the firmware/software in several stages (MIB2 High) with files sold to me on eBay, all went well but I had to re-enable Mirrorlink, Carplay and Android Auto using VCDS. You must make sure that the power supply is not interrupted so battery must be in good condition and fully charged or connected to charger.

I had my car in for its first year service last month, asked them to update my unit from 0514 to 0515 whilst they had it due to general instability of apple Carplay.
They found the 0515 on the TPI update server but told me Seat haven’t made it available for them to download yet and they would contact me when they can ???

Anyway I have since had it updated to 0515 by East York’s Retrofits on Facebook for a very good price.
You have to go to the guy or send you unit from glove box though and he does it for you and sends back.
Great service.

0515 does seem more stable for CarPlay and it also solved a major annoyance on 0514.... NO MORE WHITE PIXEL on the Cupra boot up screen !!!!!!

I think the standard firmware may be free but you have to look for that. Anybody also had to use VCDS tools on their standard upgrades. I know Walone did on his high unit. Thinking about it, it must be that you have the FeC license for those but you have to toggle the settings back on as Walone said. Really need. Like TMC... think you for got to mention that ;).

If you go to a retrofitter you draw up a piece of paper with what to check before leaving.... used Walones notes :). TSR is another one to add if you have it. That one caused me grief.

I wonder whether there is a relationship between East York’s Retrofits and Vagtec, the latter decanted their operations to Doncaster.... it will become clear one day. Was it a Doncaster address.
