I’ll also be doing the level sensor which you’ve also written up. Did you buy a repair connector for the sensor with the wires already fitted as the pins look to be a different type to the ones documented.

Glad the guides helped out. The level sensor I got hold of already had the electrical connector still attached. The part number for that particular connector is 1K0 973 202. I've attached a picture of how the end looks

Thanks for the guide Lozzy, seemed like such a good idea starting it yesterday afternoon when it was light coding it this morning so I can hopefully confirm the coding on a pre facelift for you!

Coding on a pre facelift is via the long coding helper and it’s Byte13 Bit 4. Byte 14 is for the washer fluid sensor.

Yeah the install was no bother, did both of your guides at the same time. I found it simpler to just remove the connectors for the BCM in situ rather than removing the unit.

That is an easier way if you can get them out. I couldn't, hence ended up removing it.

Hi all, finished the install today, went through the activation in vcds and the following fault was thrown up after rescan.
Can this be tested using a multimeter on the sockets that plug into the jets to confirm the wiring is functioning correctly to confirm the issue is the jets themselves and not the wiring? If so what setting wound I use on the multimeter. Thanks

Hmm, I have a bit of an issue with the idea of heated washer nozzles, which stems from my old Granada years ago - you're driving down the motorway in minus temperatures, and go to use your washers. The nozzles are heated, as is the fluid in the bottle on some models, (though the pipes between bottle and nozzles are not) so the washer fluid isn't frozen, and you get a spray of fluid on your screen.....which instantly freezes on your screen with the wiper sweeps and obscures your vision completely.
When I had the Granada, I ended up disconnecting them. I'd rather have frozen fluid that can't get onto a mucky screen than to have my vision obscured completely.
Oh, memories, my Granada Ghia - how I wish I still had that motor

Very probably OK now, back then screenwash didn't protect down to those temperatures. Thoughts of old are difficult to unthink though, it scared the hell out of me losing all vision in the middle lane of a motorway overtaking a wagon.....Wonder what actual screen temperature would be at speed with a wind chill taken into account?
