just rang Seat CS and although I haven't officially got a build date,The guy did say they are looking at getting all orders placed before the factory reopened, out to dealers in the UK for week 44 and that they are currently working through a backlog of orders and should have more build dates officially confirmed next week
I wouldn't trust that info... I ordered a standard Cupra on 12th July and was told earliest build date of early November.

Today I ordered a Nevada White - Leon Cupra ST 300 Lux with pano roof through LeasingOptions.

I was told around 12-14weeks lead time - so end of Nov/early Dec.

Was also told it would be around 5-7weeks before any update on this, once the factory comes back confirming the order.

I've been a VW/Golf fanboy for years, this is my first Seat, looking forward to it!

Anyone have an opinion on what the speaker set up/sound quality is like? Currently have Dynaudio in my GTD...

Cheers
In regards to speakers, I think they are actually pretty good, I’ve come from an Audi with Bose, and I have no issues with the sound in the Cupra at all, it’s all personal preference though!

Good to hear, thanks.

Is there any datasheet in the manual e.g. with frequency response? I'm guessing there's no sub so is mainly low mids and highs.

Not sure about frequency response, I don’t think I’ve adjusted mine, Yeah no sub but don’t really miss it. Plenty of punch from the door speakers and good stereo sound!

Seat have been taking p** with orders way before any talk of brexit, absolute Mickey Mouse company. Keep customers in the dark, no consistency or transparency, complete jokers.

Hi all - new to the forum, have been following a while though.
I ordered a Cupra Lux from Leasing Options on 8th August.
All this 10% tariff talk regarding brexit is scaring me a little, as there's no way i'd pay £3k to get it imported.
My question is (if it does happen): will we definitely be within our rights to cancel when the car has been built and they are asking for the payment? Even with the contract signed and everything?

I have checked my leasing options documents, and the finance with leaseplan, and haven't seen anything in the contracts about being able to charge the extra amount. The only place I have seen it is in the Leasing Options email signature.

Apologies if this has already been asked, and thanks in advance!

I’m ordering direct from a dealer so possibly different circumstances. They did initial credit checks and we passed. We went through a quote which we were happy with. They then ordered the car without us signing anything. It felt like we hadn’t actually done anything.

When I called in over the weekend I raised it with the Sales Manager and he said that technically we could walk away before signing anything even with the car in the country. Any finance agreement needs to be linked to a specific vehicle and VIN so prior to production I don’t think they’d have a leg to stand on other than employing aggressive sales tactics to bully people in to signing.

A backlog of orders they stopped taking orders and introduced MY20 for 2 weeks before shutting the factory for a month !

How about getting the orders in and stopping any orders while the place is shut !

I can’t believe the wait I’m 8 weeks in and got no idea if it will be soon or December !

After 12 weeks I think ill be seeking a discount if I don’t have the car

It does seem rather bad customer service,if it’s December just tell me now and I’d probably wait but string it out and we just get fraustrated

At this rate The first MY20 cupra will be on a 20 plate !

To get the order plain and simple.
Exactly bad CS lying,I never had that with ford or even VW as they had the tracker.

I would of ordered regardless of the wait but now it’s just frustrating thinking it was close but it’s not and I have no car so have to put things in place at short notice etc etc

I'm happy to wait for my Cupra, it'll resist me from paying to teriminate my current lease which ends in March and then all the additional costs and faff in regards to the insurance.

Ha so it turns out as we guessed it was more BS from Seat CS when they told me that my car was confirmed it would be with the dealer by 9th October. As i mentioned I then emailed customer services and asked the same question and just this min got the following reply:

Thank you for contacting us regarding your order update.

Your order was placed on 20 August 2019 and accepted by Factory on 21 August 2019. Currently it is waiting to be assigned a build week. I would advise checking in two weeks to see if your vehicle has been assigned a build week.

I hope you find this information useful.

Kind regards

Maybe they have lots of orders so are waiting to allocate them in the cheapest way so making the early orders wait more.

This would fit knowing they have a backlog

Yet another story from Seat CS. Answered the phone with "Hola!"

I have an allocated BW, however he stressed it is not a confirmed BW, allocated. This is week 42.

He said there are two transports a month and it is scheduled to be on the transport at the end of October, so should enter the country before 31st October.

All of this means it has a date on the order to be available for collection from the dealer from 11th November.

He again stressed that this is as it stands now and assuming their are no issues at the factory or supplier issues.
Consistent with everyone else, the dealer involved in my order has provided an update.

"The car doesn’t yet have a confirmed build week, it is still going through the motions/process...

"....Checked the production and supply and there are no delays, currently showing as a November delivery, probably end of November."

It is not completely inconsistent with what I was told other than late November rather than 11th. The merry-go-round continues.

Totally agree.
I was lucky sort of.
Got let down by my local stealership who stated it would be here for the 1st of September but them rang me a week before saying maybe another 3 weeks. Cancelled immediately much to their disgust.
Rang another one who not only had the model and spec I wanted in stock but in the right colour also, didn't even visit them and ordered it over the phone after they sent me a picture of it in their compound (took all of 5 mins from the initial call).
Collected 6 days later!

I think the Cupra waiting times are more problematic than other models in the range. Huge backlog of orders. Surprised you had an issue with an FR. I was originally told 5 months back in March but got it in 2 when it arrived in the UK in May. Never called SEAT CS once as didn't want it until July but my dealer kept me updated along the way. I've joked earlier in the thread stating it is as if they give the cars to people who aren't in a rush and make the rest wait.

To us it’s a backlog but in reality it’s just their order bank. By the very nature of the product they’re assembling and the markets they serve, they are justified in having lead times as long as they do.

Where they are failing the customer is with the antiquated order tracking and poor Dealer training on where/how to obtain updates. There should be a portal or an app, linked to your spec on an online configurator which shows current status, next step, build slot, build stage, shipping date etc.

But there’s no sign of that becoming a reality.

To be fair, CS have been polite and always answer the call after only a few rings, and never make
Me feel like I’m making a nuisance of myself whenever I’ve called.

Ours enters production in two weeks.

TBF I agree CS always been good to talk to but we are talking about SEATs,I’d expect to wait for a Ferrari 17 weeks but come on.

And like you say it’s 2019 why is there no tracker especially when the likes of VW has one and they build some of the cars in the same place so I’m told !

It’s a long wait which will only be worth it when I have it lol

There should be tracker but I think the fact that the Cupra's are only made in one factory and I'm under the impression the demand has been a lot highter than anticipated, Just going off here and on the pistonheads lease thread a lot of people have ordered Cupra's through leasing options or a dealer in the last month or 2 :/ I'm currently still driving my Hyundai Coupe Siii 2.0 around which I own so thank god I'm not relying on this to tie over another lease
