Nice man I'm definitely a bit jealous of that tranny. In a few weeks I'm rebuilding my 02m, gonna put in the 02j selector forks for added durability, along with short shifter and some reinforcements here and there. But while it's out I'm switching to a SMF, (not lightweight) the whole clutch kit is 18kg same as stock weight, the idea is to get rid of the DMF for durability purposes since I will be tracking the car here in Germany. I've heard a lot about the DMF grenading when not replaced and also tracked. Better safe than sorry for me. I'd love to do an LSD but the lady would kill me... maybe I can convince her. I have the Haldex 4wd 1.8t Leon so I'm keen and excited to get it prepped for the track this year.

:cheeky: yes I know, it was all looking like I was going to sell my car and get a Westfield after Bedford, then someone who was selling a box with LSD who I'd contacted a few months back but he'd then decided to sell it to his mate, suddenly got in touch and said it's mine if I wanted it and the numbers (just about) added up.

If it makes you feel better you welcome to drive it for a few laps round Bedford to get a feel for it, once i've learnt how to drive it :)

4wd, that would be interesting, not sure for the need for an LSD so much then. Similar setup to an Audi S3 i guess?

Is the LSD so different? I've never really pushed a FWD car so hard with and without an lsd so I cant say from experience. My subies were open front diff but not open center and rear. The bmws I had one was open one was lsd. Miata I had was also LSD that was fun as **** to drift around anywhere I went with a 6 speed short box.

It would be mad to see the difference, for sure.

Had three Subaru's myself, 4 wheel drifting round roundabouts, that was fun, not so much on the tire front though (2 sets a year! but was my daily). Never had a car with an LSD before despite having had over 25 cars.

Only just got it out on the road this weekend and it didn't spin a wheel up round the roundabout earlier when normally I could light up the fronts if floored it. As for pushing it on track I was understeering out of corners my mates Megane RS250 with LSD was losing the back and the LSD + front tires were pulling him around the corner. Similar spec. cars (although Meganes have loose rears) and I had better tires but more torque.

Yeah it's the same as A3/S3 Quattro

But with a sleeper Leon body

Not so necessary to have an expensive LSD in that.
Although the Audi’s under steer dramatically.
Just need to attack chicanes at break neck speed to have the car almost hop from side to side.
Drove a Golf Ralley for a while, many years back which was like that.

Can't wait to give it a rip... hoping to fall in love with the Haldex system as ive never experienced it. only been with full time AWD systems. but I know the computers and sensors are so good and so fast it shouldnt be a huge difference in feeling.

So today has been wash, T Cut and polish day.
Made the mistake of trying a nanotechnology scratch remover product.
Amazing results, all scratches disappeared.
For a few hrs.
In the morning the lacquer looked dull and it looked like I’d rubbed the top coat off over every scratch.
At least I’ve fixed the worst of it and a mate is coming over next week with a polisher to do it properly.

Nothing crazy as I don’t have forged rods but at present
283 horses and knocking on the door of 300 lbs of torque.

That's some hot ponies under the hood my friend. I'm looking to max out my K03s at 260hp 280tq either with Vpower 100ron or E85. Ofcourse when and if the turbo or engine let's go I'll do a build up with a good old American Holset turbo but I'll keep it small ... just the hy35w 7cm (Garret gt30 size) and shoot for 400-450hp

Ordered braided rubber vac line for my turbo actuator. Noticed one side of the coloured silicon hose looked worn on one side when I was last mooching under the car. Hopefully it was the line collapsing that's causing my current (although less often) overboost issue. At the very least I know it's something ruled out and only cost £4.
