What the latest version of mib2 eu maps which don't have the double speed limit issue? I'm planning a drive from UK to Germany in near future so want latest 'reliable' maps if they exist :)

This is what I ended up with using Windows, I'll try it out tomorrow View attachment 4627
Not sure, but are you using a USB drive to try to update the maps? You must use a 32gb SD class 10 card formatted to FAT32.
Also your file size is quite a bit different to that shown in my picture, and you must have the same number of Files and Folders as this picture shows.

Hurrah. I see you have now done it, posts crossed. Will leave my techie reply still below.

Oh yes and class 10. The byte size of just the Mib1, Mib2 and the meta files is

The latest P175 if you highlight those first three items on properties in Windows has a file size of 29,580,416,063 bytes and size on disk 29,582,782,464 bytes.

As I posted further up and Fat32. The md5 file doesn't have to be present. Some downloads have it on, some don't. So I'd take that off if it doesnt work with it on. You do need the mib1 directory there as well since it it's a combined release for mib1 and mib2 high, it dives into the mib1 directory to copy stuff out as well as the mib2.

If you get the byte size of those three directory files to those I gave above then it should work if they havent released against the 175 release with something else in it if you have Mapcare. Walone and myself were using the same release as I gave in November, should think he's on the same release although we both have modded units and use the backend menu.

I'll post the Fat32 cluster size I'm using after I get up. Its just that map import for the high is very sensitive. Could be at the end of the day your unit hasn't got Mapcare on it.

Walone and myself are using the one I post on 1281 in November.

http://vw-mapscdn.tdd.adacorcdn.com/P175_N60S5MIBH3_EU.7z

I'll check that still tallies with what I have and we aren't talking about a different release which would have a different file size.

I used NTFS with the md5 file and a Kingston 64 go class 10. Now next question, how do I update software 0355 as seen in this picture?

I have assumed that the fault in the release is pan Europe. When you get there you can check :).

On the plus when driving abroad you do get the effect that you see with the standard release. I have assumed the panel below is the kph speed and the one placed on top is the mph speed limit. So what you see on the standard in the UK of the two I had seen before.

Don't know whether the standard gives you the wrong speeds or missing speeds on roads abroad. See if anybody responds. Perhaps at the end of the day it's a data preparation issue that effects the UK. Irish remembers ?.... anybody non UK based using the latest standard release ?.

That table I posted up came from the UK Tiguan board where someone had classified each VAG standard release by accuracy. As I said before the issues they show went back a while but hadn't been picked up on this thread by people with the mib2 standard. I didnt want to disillusion anybody with a standard unit, I didn't have access to one then, so I didn't say anything :).

Some people do say NTFS works. I reckon a USB works as well but didn't want to contradict Walone. I do my speed camera updates on USB as well as SD. USB is fine, I reckon I've read people doing it that way although given can drive about during the update, SD should give you better contact than a pen drive.

Walone is your man for firmware updates. He updated his prior to getting it modded although I don't think he has an H50 unit. Mine is H50, was software 0674, Ateca 2016. So we both used the same small company to get are Mib2 Highs turned into retrofits but had different units.

Mine was:
5F0035020C
0674

After the mod it went onto

5F0035020G
1338

There is a thread on the board

https://forums.seatcupra.net/index.php?threads/sw-update-for-mib2-infotainment-system.427280/page-20

They use the Spanish site mentioned in that thread but they aren't modded ones just the standard release. Your current part number 5F0035020B was the one before mine. So 5F0035020G will be fitted to some Seats. When I looked in December I couldn't find the release that I'd been put on. I was just trying to track down whether that original release was in the public domain. I never found it. You have to go threw the Spanish thread looking for H50... Well that's what I reckon. The company we used turned me away the year before but could do it a year latter, that I believe was due to them being able to source the H50 firmware. So that was my check, you might have better luck, failing that you'll be looking for a specialist.

I pass on the rest over to Walone who did do a firmware update but not on an H50.

I've used pocketgpsworld subscription which covers approx 80 countries world wide but allows you to narrow down the speed camera database to UK and / or EU only if required.

How do you install it? Don’t really feel like paying for a subscription, WAZE is free but it would be nice to have it built in to the sat nav.

Hello everyone,

Could someone please point me to the relevant post(s) regarding the location and steps to update the maps for a late 2013 Leon. I can’t quite stomach reading through 78 pages!

Installed following the thread I gave or any Poi's. We use Poi Inspector

https://poinspect0r.blogspot.com/

In the documention on the Ateca side I give blow by blow screens although Radas the programmer has slightly altered them although the link is still good. The program replaces the one VW pulled since they want people to use Car Link which we don't have on Seat and that doesn't support the warble sound. You can also load up your favourites which is handy.

Pocket GPS World £20 a year covers the world as Kiddo says.

If it's Mib1 your out of luck you first need to look to see whether it say 6P as the leading code, see up a bit :). 6P = mib2 then you are in luck for DIY.

See post 1524.

Ive been trawling through pots after post and page after page to see if its possible to update the MIB1 maps and 2nd to backup an SD card which can also be used. I'm still not sure what the definitive answer is as I can see references to copying files on MIB1 systems, then i can see posts which say MIB1 cant be done. What's the definitive please?

Mib2 Standard uses the CID so I guess Mib1 does as well. If you go back to January 2017 and on if not a bit before Exciter describes to Notabenem using Linux to clone the CID which he did and using the workaround for Mib2 standard got himself a cloned card. Exciter is the accredited person on workaround.

I've also read of a Windows software tool that will clone the CID, apparently the commands aren't in regular Windows.

https://www.renaultsport.co.uk/forum/default.aspx?g=posts&t=87540

Operator error on my part delayed the experiment... oops. I probably won't be allowed to touch the unit again. The SD card fell in a tricky place... now sorted:). Was interested in that for testing out versions of Mib2 Standard releases and SD cards do get corrupted... just nice to have that back up. Such a clone will only work on your unit.

Bad news nobody has been able to update a mib1 standard using DIY of recent. Some people so it appeared in 2016 had success by buying cards, other didn't. They couldn't reproduce what other people had done which was basically putting in a bought card, normally these have to be put on ODIS to register them in at the dealers. That's all in the thread.

Then there was one guy in East Europe who was trying to setup a business by getting people to send their units to him for the update. These are all retrofit procedures. I guess there are retrofitters about in the UK that can do this process on a Mib1. I don't think I ever got out of them whether after his process you could update the map again and again yourself or whether he just unlocked it for the update. So there is the cost effectiveness of that one against paying for the update. Some recent posts on that one of a garage mib1 standard map update.

Hope that helps.

Does anyone know how to update the firmware/software versions? or if it’s even possible?

See post 1548. The dedicated thread

https://forums.seatcupra.net/index.php?threads/sw-update-for-mib2-infotainment-system.427280/page-20

That links into a Spanish thread and it's that which is the source in Spanish, you have to translate it although as I said I havent found anything on the H50 but you could ask on that. Basically I think the firmware drops off a back of a lorry then they post it up on the Club Seat Leon Spanish thread with instructions other than that you pay someone to do it.

I didnt find a public domain version that a retrofitter outfit put mine on which made it a 2019 Ateca. You have the same unit an H50, your original software however is one before my 2016 one, before it had the work done to sort out the need for mapcare and became a retrofit unit with a modded version of 1338.

DIY firmware updates you do need to do VCDS frigging and if a retrofitter does it, like an IT man not finishing the job, you still have to finish the job yourself. It isn't like the map updates. VCDS / OBDEleven knowledge is required either way.
