I do 25 miles a day dual carriageway miles for work. It is slightly louder sat at 70 but not enough to be annoying. Id only go for the resonator though and leave the silencer in.

My insurance premium increased by £11, so with £25 admin fee that was £36.
That's interesting - I declared 'Exhaust Modification' through my Policy in Aviva online and my premium didn't change (although I didn't add any additional value)

I guess it depends on how generic/precise their categories are. Based on what the adviser told me The change I made was classed under a category labelled “sound and/or performance” exhaust modification, maybe the fact that the category was fairly generic, and there were performance connotations it justified the premium hike. Nevertheless I am reasonably satisfied, as I was expecting to pay more.

My insurer is ensure

Thank you so much for the detailed response.

My biggest fear with getting this done is drone on a motorway!

I note in your post that you havent noticed any yet. I would be interested to hear your thoughts after a few days?!

I dont suppose you have a video if how it sounds??

I’ll try my best. Just be aware that i may have uncovered an actual issue with my exhaust (hairball) which, if proved correct, may render my experiences with the delete process as an exemplar for the ST unreliable :(

Thats a fair point. The noise may be muffled a little at the moment. I hope you get it sorted without too much trouble and cost! Keep us all updated!

So I've reverted and gone back to standard. I can now put my foot down with out fear of scaring small woodland creatures. On a more practical level, the motorway noise is greatly reduced when putting your foot down and so all is right with the world.

The noise definitely turns heads, but I've realised now I want to stay a bit more stealthy.

On the plus side, if anyone is in the market for a 2 week old Progressive Parts Delete pipe for a 300 for a reduced price, drop me a message. I'm in the Reading, Berkshire area.

Has anyone used a ZaustworX res delete? There on eBay and priced low

Got one on my leon FR 1.8 tsi. It’s a stainless pipe, Easy to fit and does a great job.
Not sure what the vag sport res delete brings to the party, other than costing about £80 more.

Had the blockage removed from my exhaust, now both exits are working.

Had my custom resonator delete for around 3 months now and it is getting noticeably louder. Has anyone else had this experience? (Had the welding checked and its fine).

Had mine done for a while now, but I'm due for my first service soon. Has anyone taken theirs off for the service or left it on?

Won't effect the service and if you're under warrenty don't worry, as the only thing the delete effects is the exhaust and the exhaust is excluded from warrenty anyways
