Okay, so I slightly retract my statement about no DSG noise on gear change...I heard one today out of 2nd into 3rd! I noticed it more on the previous 290 and 300 but maybe it’ll get louder.
Good man! Keep me posted
I honestly thought it was something you could reproduce at will, but that they would be more pronounced in DSG sport and manual mode?

Chose monsoon but getting magnetic. Really tempted to get the blades.

Phoned SEAT CS today - first contact with CS since I ordered the first week in Feb to get their thoughts on no spare wheel. Not interested - dealer's problem I am told. Dealer had originally told me to phone them. Did end up chatting to someone in the finance team though - maybe I need to try a bit harder and get through to the long-term customer retention department. I jest.

I also ordered a brochure from the SEAT website last week and got a follow up call today from UK sales. He lost interest when I said I wasn't after fleet sales. I explained to him that I was trying to find out what the car I had ordered in February would look like and I also stated my slight annoyance at all the tampering they've done cosmetically since I've ordered it and he really couldn't wait to get rid of me. Nice Leon brochure anyway.
The blades looked great on the monsoon grey.

I guess you just need to look at the carbon.

I'm still not 100% sure on what the magnetic grey looks like as I haven't seen it in the flesh, but I'm confident that the blades will work.

My current 290 manual pops and bangs alot, so much more with the jb1 installed! Massive bangs when lifting off at 4k revs in second and third gear. When it was new, it was pretty silent but got better after 1k miles.

Car Length In Front
The full side skirts make the car look lower in the middle, but you need to get a front splitter to stop the front end from looking really high in comparison. This was the main reason for wanting the front splitter painting white on mine. Got it wrapped in the short term then obviously got rid of the car.

This shot shows what I mean quite well...

Where as the blades finish the side of the car off nicely without lowering the middle of the car so it doesn't match the front bumper...

I still think the side skirts are nicer, and on the 300 you can get the official front splitter so match it all up, but that’s £££ too.

Not sure if it's just because it's a carbon but I prefer the blades on the ST. Prefer the skirts on 3 and 5 doors.

Hi guys been a while since I posted on here but im looking at ordering a Cupra estate purely for warehouse runs once a week, and just general running around rarther than using my other car. I looked into having a carbon addition on contract hire today and the cost of them is just stupid. There only 2k more above the normal Seat so im failing to see where they get there figures from for them, they keep telling me they are special but yet they have loads floating around that will never sell. I can get a normal Cupra for £240 a month with a 2.5k deposit with a few options. So im thinking have one of them have every option possible and still pay less. Yes obviously it will be missing the sports exhaust and a few carbon fibre bits but its not the end of the world.

My question is are these cars any good, its been a while since I have owned one and with everything that has been going on within the VAG group over the last year or so I was just a bit concerned. There are a few cars available straight away but I don't really want to order one and then have to wait months for it.

The standard cupras are much cheaper on the contract hire/lease as seat heavily subside a discount on it to bring the figures down. The limited editions ones are take it or leave it prices without special discounts.

Also financed with Arval.. documents arrived today stating Cupra 300 and with the wrong monthly amounts :)

Is it really an issue that it says 300? Not signing until they fix the monthlies anyway... Wish things would just go smoothly

Hi all
having read through the past 10-15 pages it is getting me more excited!

ordered my 290 DSG last week with expected delivery in 2/3weeks. looking at the order it states Winter Pack with black leather sports seats, it is not the Lux model. I was also told that the car would have the red callipers etc think it was BW40/41, not to fussed about the 6/7 speed but I would like the newer of the 2.

I had ordered a Skoda Karoq (trying to be sensible) but with lead times of 5 months I cancelled and then this cracker of a deal came up for the Cupra!
owned the 184FR before and I loved that car. I hope the DSG allows the newer 290 to make the same noise on the ups and downs
who'd you order through?

I signed my VWFS docs saying it was a 300 and not 290 at a dealership with no problems. They couldn’t easily change them as the price protection was on a 300 not a 290.

Maybe there is some software on the ecu that limits certain things to protect the engine during the running in period.
Exhausts normally sound better once they get bedded in.

I've just sent a quote request to gateway (price on request for ST), is anyone else listing the ST, allvehiclecontracts only list the hatch at the moment, I assume it's just taking time for everyone to update their lists.

For those worried about bangs, I can tell you that it’s not a worry! On the school run this morning I skipped from 4th to 2nd which brought the revs up to about 3.5k and it let off a few big bangs and a few pops; enough to make one of the mums and her daughter jump!
So childish...

Maybe this is a rookie question... But do you change the gears manually to get this effect?

I did not know that you could change the gears manually with the DSG gearbox.

ordered through nationwide vehicle contracts - site currently states 7-21days delivery only colours are magnetic/midnight/Mystery. I took the magnetic they are all BW40/41 cars so no Copper etc good deals I thought. I took a 6+23 with 10k miles, GAP insurance was only £199
