Letchworth Seat are crap... I’ve tried 5 times to test drive the ST 4Drive they have in their pre-reg sales listed on autotrader..

1st time it was in the workshop as the battery was dead from being sat in the showroom
2dn time. The sales manages was now using the car and had gone on holiday, leaving the car in the airport parking
3rd time the sales manager was in a meeting in the morning and decided he didn’t want to go back into the showroom in the afternoon, even after I phoned agreed to request the drive
4th time, he was at lunch, even though I’d phoned ahead to at what time I’d be there
5th time, he has brought his partners car to work, even though I phoned YESTERDAY and organised to test drive..

On top of that, they have an ST manual in the showroom, and they have all the signage on it saying it’s a 4Drive (DSG)... !!:banghead:
Sounds like the sales manager wants to keep it as his run about instead of selling it.

Does this match the build date you were given?
Yup. Build date of Monday 17th or BW38. I just need to know when it actually ships so I can dovetail giving the 290 back to BCA. If it now gets delayed, for example if they’re testing on a ‘per car’ basis, then VWFS have to informally extend the lease.

So I now know that my car has been built, but apparently they are awaiting 'technical data' and won't get that until next week sometime. No idea what that actually means though...I'm awaiting my case Manager Rae to call me back...

Good news it’s now been built! I believe they will test each car separate before shipping

Dealer has confirmed build week 40
Nice one mate. Was this a recent update confirmation?

I was told the build weeks would be assigned approx 4 weeks before build.

Wondering if the lastest advice I was given is not relevant under WLTP circumstances.

Just had an update from my Customer services person. I ordered in January and still have made no progress I'll copy/paste what she said but to me it looks like she is saying on week 42 I'll get a build week allocated.

"I am writing to keep you updated on your vehicle order.

I have been informed that we are awaiting the technical data needed to provide a time scale.

At the moment I have found that the technical data will be retrieved around week 42 which is the week commencing 15 October 2018.

I will be in contact with any further information."

The technical data is when they receive info on the model. I was given similar info the other day.

I was told it was not a confirmation of build date.
This happened before when they suggested it was week 40 and that was also for technical data. Looks like it may be delayed to week 42.

Things seem to be moving so hopefully we'll get a confirmation soon.

Cars are seemingly being built without the need for the factory to release technical data to customer services and the dealers. So the build week could come before that, failing that hopefully before the end of October.

Then we have delivery times to complain about

Disappointed i didn't get to use my panroof this summer - 1st world problems

On the plus side we'll get a full summer out of them at the end of the deal to hand them back in the winter.
