Turbo cutting out - EPC light? Help?!?

I have a 1.8tsi DSG Leon and out of the blue about a week ago it through up the EPC light and seems to have lost power.

It’s feels like the turbo just shuts off, it still revs to redline and can sit on a motorway. Just feels like 80bhp as apoosed to the 180bhp is has.

It is intermittent and happens at random points but it keeps happening.

When the lights off and the turbo’s on it works 100% as normal.

Could anyone shed any light? If I keep driving it, will the turbo go? Bad for the engine? What can I do?!?

Sounds like the car is throwing up an error which is causing it to go into "limp" mode. You need to get it a fault code report from either a garage/dealer or via VAGCOM/ODBEleven/Carista.

Def sounds like turbo actuator. They stick open, Mine went 2yrs ago. The actuator can be replaced on its own, mine was done under the extended warranty so no idea on cost.

Happened on my 1.4ACT too. Tried a new actuator but ended up with a new turbo to fix it.
That’s my thinking, looking at actuators for mine, May as well get a used IS20 and stick it on! Unfortunately mines. 2013 so isn’t in warranty but the mechanic will be having a look at it in next few days see if he can work his magic!
