Just getting the car ready for winter. Current battery is 6 years old and according to the multimeter averaging around 11.75v. All the websites recommend a 027 battery. But that didn't seem right so went for a 096 (278x175x190) same as recommend for an Audi S3.

Couldn't get the frickin maf connector off :censored:. So just did it all with the Revo intake inplace.

13mm socket to remove the battery bracket:

10mm spanner to undo the terminals. Old battery out and gave the tray a wipe over:

New battery Varta Silver E44 (77AH 780CCA):

Tighten it back up... should have been 20nm apparently... oh well, just did it tight. Again, reached down side of intake:

All connected up. Just need to drive till lights go out, reset clock. Oh and SPS. Revo settings were reset to 1-0-0:

Finished 2017 with a Milltek downpipe to go with the Milltek Catback and a Stage 2 Revo at MidlandVW. Now running 320bhp/335lbs.

Plans for 2018:
  • Forge or Airtec intercooler
  • LOBA HPFP
  • Vibrotechnic engine / gearbox mounts
  • Stage 2+ map
  • Preventative replacement of chain tensioner?
  • Replace front brake pads (possibly discs)
  • May need to upgrade clutch (Helix)

But first starting with the hose pipe and vacuum!!

Gave up after the warning light came on for the third brake light. Annoyed I couldn't figure out how to pop the thing out myself. But only cost me £60 fitted at MidlandVW.

Rented a ramp at SSG in Stoke for servicing and front brake pads:

A new record for launching the spring clips of 3.67m. And lost a chunk of thumb.

Loving this thread buddy! Not that I'm bias or anything haha

I'd love to this car in the flesh/metal, as I'm a generic noob when it comes to modding haha

Cheers

Nice! How obvious is when looking at normal human height?

It's going to be 21 degrees this week... Will it cope haha

The logo, not so much. But shiny shiny catches your eye from certain angles. But it is actually quite subtle. Hopefully, it ran 5 degrees over ambient on drive back compared to stock cooler of 20 degrees over ambient on the way there!

Finally got round to replacing the underbody protection (freeing up a large section of my living room):

If you've flicked through the last couple of pages, I'd kerbed one alloy pretty bad. Then did another 2. LOL. Bargain £240 (19" alloys). And its bespoke colour as well (Matt Bronze). Better pic:

It's a great colour! I couldn't put a name on when I first looked at it lol

That's good value for 4 wheels!, are you able to let me know the place you used?

My previous owner like Kerbing it seems lol
