Current factory-order lead times, from order to arrival at your dealership, are shown below:

Arona 10-12 weeks
Toledo 10-12 weeks
Leon SC 15-17 weeks
Leon SC Titanium 18-20 weeks
Leon 5dr 15-17 weeks
Leon ST 15-17 weeks
Ateca 10-12 weeks
Alhambra 10-12 weeks

Additional Lead Times

Leon FR (17" alloy wheels) +5 weeks
Leon FR (18" PUM alloy wheels) +3 weeks

About par for the course then. My Golf R was about 14 - 15 weeks but I got VW to store it as I wanted to wait until March 1st for a newer plate. Somethings are worth waiting for!

This information is provided to the dealer network each week by SEAT UK. All I am doing is reproducing it here in case anyone finds it useful.

Lead times used to be 20-24 weeks (and higher at one point) but have now come down considerably.

Personally I would air on the side of caution and allow for the possibility of longer lead times in some cases.

I still don't have a build date for an Ateca order I placed 9 weeks ago!

If the order was accepted before cw05 (e.g cw3) will the lead times still be at that time or start to move closer to those just posted ?

I've been trying to work that out for two and a half years!

On the few occasions I have had to chase SEAT UK about an order they have always quoted the lead time in effect in the week the order was accepted, but it is not an exact science.

does it matter which dealership you order your cupra from? requested an offer on carwow and one of the rep told me this when I ask about lead times:

" unlike a dealership as we are part owned by SEAT we do get priority builds at the factory meaning the lead time could come forward but to avoid disappointment we still would say 20 weeks"

this offer was 1k more than the best, but if that's true i might just go with this to have it faster :help:

What utter bollocks!

carwow don't sell cars, are not "part-owned" by any manufacturer and do not get any sort of priority. They are purely on online broker that take a commission for passing on enquiries to the dealerships that are signed up to their 'service'. The factory order lead time is exactly the same whichever dealership you order from. Yes, actual times can be shorter than those quoted once an order is in the system, but anyone guaranteeing it is blatantly lying to you to get your order.

The only way you'll get a car more quickly is if you find a dealership that already has one in stock or in their pipeline.

yeah, I know, I got contacted by 5 dealers by carwow and one of them claimed he might be able to get the car faster because :

"unlike a dealership as we are part owned by SEAT we do get priority builds at the factory meaning the lead time could come forward but to avoid disappointment we still would say 20 weeks" - this was from one of the dealers

sorry it was to early and had had a coffee yet :ban:

I'm not aware of any dealerships being "part-owned" by SEAT

This was seat lakeside, it's a concept store...
Which is owned by Group 1 Automotive who own Hatfield SEAT and Watford SEAT trading as Barons Group. Nothing to do with SEAT UK.

I order a cupra this weekend there, I'll report back one I hear back any progress
Should be no different to ordering from any other dealership.

Hi Scrogg,

I wonder if you could help me. Do you have the lead times for orders that were accepted by the factory in week 42 of 2017?

I remember being quoted a delivery of March. However, its looking more like mid to late April now but they insist this isn't a delay... I am only concerned as I will be without a car for 3 weeks with an 7 month pregnant wife.

Apologies to posting in the thread, I cant send you a PM.

Thanks

James

Assuming you've ordered a Leon (this is in the Leon section, after all) then the following applied:

Leon SC 15-17 weeks
Leon SC Titanium 18-20 weeks
Leon 5dr 15-17 weeks
Leon ST 15-17 weeks

Leon 1.4 EcoTSI 150 +4 weeks
Leon FR (17" alloy wheels) +5 weeks
Leon FR (18" PUM alloy wheels) +3 weeks
Leon FR (18" PUK alloy wheels) +12 weeks
Leon CUPRA +5 weeks
