Applied sound deadening and felt around the edges of the N/S door to cure rattles (same as i did with the drivers door a couple of weeks ago) - find out tommorow if all is well :)

Do you have any pictures to show where you applied the felt and sound proofing?

Cheers!

Sorry didn't take any pics
I ran the felt around the outside edge (where door meets rear wing) just behind where the door card touches the metal door and along the top edge of the door where the card presses against, i also used the felt tape to secure any loose connectors and wires.
The deadening panels were cut to fit where any bare metal was on show where the door card might touch (causing a buzz?).
I also ran some grease along the top rubber seal which had some residue on - not sure if this was factory applied or a previous dealer "fix"? - this is where the top of the door card hooks over so could rattle or squeak?

Nice quiet drive to and from work today - no more rattles :D

Fitted LED bulbs for rear indicators. Much brighter than the filament ones they replaced and more in keeping with front & rear LED illumination. No CAN bus errors too. Rear light clusters are a nightmare to remove and managed to break the plastic mounts for the ball fixing points. Diabolical design, the designer engineer responsible should be sacked. Glued as a temporary fix, but need replacement. Replaced the air filter too.

Looks good - did you fit it yourself? is it as awkward to fit as others mention (having to remove undertray)?

Thanks, I'm very pleased with it.

I had a minor repair done on the front bumper and I got the body shop to fit the splitter at the same time. They had the bumper off for the respray, which makes fitting much easier. I was charged an additional £60 + VAT to fit it.

hopefully you didn't crack the sealing too, if so the next thing you can expect is condensation building up inside the lamp a that is very annoying and impossible to get rid off.... i hate these lamps!

I've got a brand new rear light for an ST, its the LED version which has a standard bulb for indicator. I bought it as a replacement for a steamed up one on my Leon ST. However I never fitted it as I traded the car in.

It is still in it's box, only opened to take the pics below, open to offers for it ?

When I removed the light I noticed it already had a crack in the black plastic, and on further inspection I found some condensation. Unfortunately I broke the ball fixings whilst removing it so I cant get a warranty replacement.

i was in similar situation, cracked light, tried to glue it all around the sealing, no luck. then i took my chance and brought the car to dealer even when my warranty expired in june this year. They took few pictures of the light, they didn't even put it out. Im sure that if they see in what state the lamp is from inside they would refuse everything straight away [B)]. Seat came back with offer that they will cover 50% cost of the new lamp with fitting..... :3rd:
