Get a 300 - get rid of that Jap Crap . Only joking mate, it’s looking very nice after its detail.

I’ve got a 1.4 tsi FR on order to replace the Ibiza. I didn’t like the mk 2 but this new one is nice!

I would get a low mileage 290 black edition, mainly due to the fact someone else has taken the biggest hit on depreciation. Plus i prefer the multispoke alloys on the 290 compared to the ones on the 300.

300 will come with the new headunit and options not available on the 290.... depends if you wanted any of the new options.

Having an ST Black DSG, I'd probably go for the 300. Four wheel drive with dsg has got to be an improvement on the spin and tramp that I experience. Also, I love the wheels but they're an absolute c bomb to clean. I love the car but imagine that the 300 is better still, if you can get a deal. The bucket seats are good but not sure I'd pay extra for them on a 300.

All I would say re spin and tramp for most people with Stage 1 or 2 maps there are many hardware changes and tyres we have implemented to help a lot to control this (along with learning to drive with the extra power).

If you bought a 290 with a stage one map (approx £720-00) you would get 340 - 370bhp just to add into the mix of what car to buy.

Thanks for the replies guys both have there pros an cons love the cupra black edition because of the seats etc and the 300 because it has push start and sun roof and it’s the new red and believe it or not there’s only 1k of a difference in price[B)]

300 would be my choice mate. Noticeable improvement in refinement and I prefer the new centre console too - seems more solid and better use of the space. I came from a 280 DSG hatchback to the 300ST DSG and it’s spades ahead of the 280. For only 1k difference I know where my money would go...

Surly those figures will apply to the 300 aswell

I'd go 300 mate. I have the 1.4 150 FR and previously had a pre facelift se dynamic tech and the build quality seems so much better on the facelift and it's not just the spec upgrade that makes the difference, it just feels far more solid and far superior.

I'm intrigued as to the differences that Seat have made to the interior build materials that have resulted in such an inprovement. As i can find no source that states any variation between the 300 and the 290. The only cosmetic differences appear to be the piano black detailing and the carbon effect on the seating instead of the white.
