Cheers Craig. 1st one took an hour and a half. 2nd one half an hour. A steering knuckle spreader and the right tool for the top nuts makes a big difference. Surprised that all the bolts played ball, first time that's happened in a while
I no what u mean m8 I was surprised when I did my suspension the bolts all played ball it was a different story when I lowered my mk4 golf on springs they where a nightmare. To be honest dude I was reading a thread on the site about coilovers and uprated shock/spring setups the other day was impressed, at the end of the day it's personal preference.
To answer your question thow about coilovers I'm running JOM blueline coilovers MPD performance do them for a cupra around £220 if I remember correctly or off eBay but make sure they for a cupra. I'm quite impressed with them, they look nice anadized blue springs and a zinc coated strut to stop rusting, integrated spring and strut with helper spring, drop between 30-100mm , 25/30% dampening, uprated shortened piston to allow for travel dew to drop, rears on mine are a separate spring and shock and have adjusters that mount to trailing arms, ride wise smooth, can be a little bouncey depends on the roads, pot holes can be a little harsh but forgiving I try and avoid them as everyone dose.
Also in the thread I read GFS and Euro Car Parts do an few uprated shock and spring setups if I want 2 go that route for around the same sort of money, but it's up 2 yourself

JOM Blueline coilovers are fine for the money, Andrew. I've had a set in the past. Also had a set of Weitec Hicon GT coilovers which were far better but cost four times as much. For a daily driver, and totally my opinion, I find coilovers much too harsh and bouncy. I'd stick with a decent set of shocks and springs with a maximum drop of 30mm, otherwise it's too crashy. I've just put mine back to standard and I'm far happier with it.
Didn't think about bounce , some of the roads around here are shocking, so shock & spring combo I'm going to look into. Need to drop this a fair bit being stripped

Re-wipered the back end with an Ebay Fabia estate wiper. £9 delivered including the blade and cap. Thought I'd need to buy a different bolt cap from a hatchback but it turned up with a cap compatible with a spindle mounted washer, result!
Polished the badge shadows out of the rear end as the previous owner did a half a*sed job of it, along with everything else they touched on the car like the subframe and wishbone bolts I nipped up this morning.
Fitted a new speaker to the drivers door so have a fully functioning stereo now too.
She scrubs up ok for a 15 year old car:

No lacquer peel to worry about on Imperial Blue. I've had red and yellow Leons in the past. I've zero rust or any bad issue. work yard is a very dusty place so I don't bother too much. What do you use to get it like that?

It's Poorboys professional polish. Haven't machine polished this car yet but will probably use the same product and top it with a synthetic sealant when I do. It's refined enough to use as a 1 step product.
