Ordered a Nevada White Seat Leon Fr Titanium Technology 1.4 150ps back at the end of April. Delivery date was 1st of July which was missed and put back to sometime middle of August. Middle of August was missed and was told first week in September.

Got an email from SEAT UK on the 2nd of August "Your new SEAT Leon FR is on its way. The wheels are fitted. The lights are tested. The final coat of paint is dry. Your new Seat Leon FR is ready to leave the factory and head to Glasgow"

This email got my hopes up. Shipping takes 3-4 weeks so the first week in September looked promising. Yesterday I decided it was time to contact my dealer as I hadn't heard anything recently from them and it turns out they don't have an update as they blanked me. Throughout the whole process the dealer has been awful at communicating dates with me apart from when the car is delayed.

So I decided to contact SEAT UK directly and got a call today. Because I am getting the Titanium trim the car doesn't come from the factory straight to Glasgow as the email states. It goes from the factory to another factory in Germany (I think he said Germany) to get the side skirts and spoiler put on then shipped to Glasgow. He said that will take at least 8 weeks.

This made me sick to the stomach. This is the fourth delay on the car and he said it was purely down to SEAT not being able to keep up with orders which is understandable but they don't seem to be doing anything productive to speed things up.

I asked if SEAT are willing to provide me with some sort of compensation because the car will be late as they have a timescale of 18-20 weeks for my model and my delivery is well out of that window now. He said he would pass the request on and someone will contact me next week. I will keep you guys updated on how I get on if I even get anything.

I've always wanted the Leon but honestly I don't know if the wait is even worth it now, my dreams have truly crashed and burned. At least another 8 weeks wait now...

Update on the Dealership: I have been assigned a new sales executive who has been fantastic so far with dealing with the situation. I hope this will continue on the run up to getting the car and after I have it.

Update on SEAT: They still haven't bothered to contact me after being told I would be contacted. I emailed again and still no phone call so I will call on Monday morning if I hear nothing today.

I don't understand how dealers still have leons in stock? Surely they're getting them from somewhere.

I really feel for you, it seems that you are not just suffering the pain of the 1.4 EcoTsi delays but they have put that additional 8 weeks on for the Titanium spec, I too would be gutted, keep pushing them, you certainly deserve something whether you get it or not. I was told 12 weeks max for mine and it was ordered on 18th July but I have gone for the 1.8TSI in straight FR trim with Alcantara pack and uprated alloys but I don't have huge confidence that mine will be ready for the beginning of October having heard these stories.

I am sorta in the same boat. Here is a piece I just posted on a PistonHeads forum:

Ordered my Cupra 5dr Manual in white (no options) beginning of July. Had been unsuccessful to date finding out my build date having previously been told October and then December. I have called Seat UK 3 times to find build date and each time they informed me that the 'Factory has just accepted order, call back in a week or so'. Today, I called only to be told the exact same thing and was given an estimate of week 6 (next year!!!). At this point I complained and explained that each time I called I'd been told that factory has only just accepted and go call back in a week or so. Two minutes on hold again and was returned to a 'Hi Mr ****, your build date is 4th December, apologies for the mix up'.

I don't have much trust in Seat at moment and my order appears to be messed about. Shame because we ordered car based on an October, November latest, from IMG Warrington as we are handing our company car back in October. I sorta needed bit of a better estimate than delivery between October and February next year so I know what arrangements to make for a temporary car.

Anyone else had these types of issues ordering a Seat?

If you want the head of Seat UK to come down on some one like a ton of bricks hear my advice and in detail explain what's happened how you feel, (milk it) and post a review on your dealer on Google reviews.

Believe me now they are watched like a hawk for 1 star reviews and bad comments against the company. I was promised a hire car and kept getting told it will take 7 days, after the review I had one at 7am the following day less than 3 hours after posting

Last time I posted one with them it was like steak and blowjob day. Couldn't kiss my ass enough.

And if the day bro you've been taken the piss out of, and they've not even bothered to keep you in the loop.

Happy to take 20-30k money off you for a motor but cba to even give you a quick email textnor call update.

You are spot on mate! Whenever I get the call from SEAT UK I will make a point of the dealer being awful and I will definitely get a review posted of them! It will be interesting to see what SEAT offer because I feel like cancelling the order at this point. I'm that annoyed with the whole situation.

apparently the vw group can't churn out the 1.4 engines fast enough, now that diesel is a bad word.

That is in general why waiting times are so long but my issue is the car is built, the engine is in it. But for a extended spoiler and side skirts to be put on the car, it has to go to Germany  and increase my waiting time by 8 weeks.

You would think that if they could build the actual car in Spain, fitting the skirts/spoiler should be child's play.

Heard rumours they've been fixed on after being unloaded from docks, and the ones that came out of Spain have genuine part numbers on and the ones that had them put on don't have part numbers on I swear there's a thread about it already

So it's cheaper to ship a 1.2 ton car from Spain to Germany to have (I'm guessing) no more than 10kg worth of parts attached than it is to ship 10Kg worth of parts from Germany to Spain? I'm calling BS on this. Surely the call centre meant, even though they said otherwise, it takes 8 weeks for the spoiler and side skirts to arrive from the factory in Germany to SEAT assembly in Spain? I stand corrected if I'm wrong.

Im hoping these horror stories arent all true across the leon range. Ive ordered my 1.8 FR at the end of july and if its not here by december the orders probably going to get cancelled.

I had to wait 6 weeks for a set of side blades for my new Cupra
To arrive from Spain as there were none available when it arrived
I think Seat have been caught out big style launching too many successful new models at the same time:(

It really makes no sense. I will get confirmation from the manager when he gives me a call next week. It seems ridiculous how a car can be built and ready yet for two side skirts and a extended spoiler it takes 8 weeks to fit them, then deliver the car.

As another post above states, SEAT really have taken on too many orders and launched too many new cars or facelifts. They really should not be taking anymore orders until they can clear the backlog of orders and at least get production times down.

If I even get my car in 8 weeks, it will be around 6 months wait when originally it was meant to be 3. If I knew the wait was this long I would have went else where in all honesty.

Can't see dealers being in a situation to stop taking orders
They will probably continue giving people unrealistically short delivery times
Which will extend once orders are taken and deposits paid
My Cupra went from 12 weeks to 16 about 2 weeks after order and ended up taking 18

Have to say well worth the wait

Blame all these cheap lease deals... never had to wait for cars this long until these cheap lease deals arrived.

I managed to move my order forward 5 weeks, unfortunately I moved it that far forward that it became a MY14 instead of MY15.

I don't think it's huge delays for everyone, the 1.4 Eco TSi is adding at least 12 weeks to a build currently but my cousin's next door neighbour ordered a 1.8Tsi FR with upgraded alloys (everything else stock) in the last week of June and apparently he is picking it up from his dealer the end of this week.

I have asked my cousin to text me if and when he sees it on his neighbours drive as I ordered a 1.8TSi FR in July.

I ordered my Cupra 300 Feb 15th and it arrived middle of May. Was a few weeks earlier than initially estimated. No problem with updates from dealer either.

Not that this helps you but was my experience.

I guess you were one of the very few lucky people. The majority of us seem to be getting delay after delay after delay. No call as of yet from SEAT, I will give them to the end of tomorrow then call myself on Thursday. I will be furious if i don't get a call tomorrow from them that's for sure.
