ESP Fault - G201 job done

Hi guys,

After a few months of getting some cash together, i ordered a new set of ebc discs and pads all round as mine were getting knackered.
Had the front set fitted along with the g201 abs pressure sensor jobbie done on my car.
Couldn't fit the rears yet as the rear calipers are well and truly..... shot (getting them fitted this week.) Back to the g201- it has finally cleared the annoying fault where my tire pressure monitor light was constantly on and the non existent abs & esp.

Problem is, along with what i think is a VERY newly slipping clutch (started today):censored: is that the ESP(TCS) still doesn't turn on or off (pretty sure its permanently off).
No traction control light on the dash, no flashing light on dash or any assistance when the tyres spin up(unless what i believe to be the clutch slipping is actually the ESP trying to help) No error codes via Vag Com or anything that helps me in any way.
The light behind the ESP button to turn it on/off doesn't even illuminate in red when the lights are on, like all the other switches and dials etc. It's asif the switch or button is dead.

It has never illuminated since i got the car over a year ago (Yes, the problem has been there that long) but i just chalked that down to the g201 fault, so i didn't think anything of it.

Still bedding the brakes so i'm not able to stomp on them or really push the car to test that the abs is actually working yet, but i'm hoping that will be fine as the fault is cleared and the tire pressure monitor is working again

Any ideas on where to start?
Could is possibly be as simple as a replacement switch? Maybe there's a fuse that has been pulled/blown that could just need changing, possibly hiding the light on the dash?

After all of this, i'm left with 0 cash, an m.o.t next month which needs a cv boot and track rod end, potentially a nice big upcoming bill for the clutch and as I'm currently not able to conduct any real tests, Its leaving me in panic mode. (more so about the clutch)

HELP?

Does the light on dash light up when you turn the ignition on and then go out?
If it does, and is not lit during normal driving , it should mean the ABS is working. The button could be bust, I'm sure others have had that issue, do a search , I think you can swap with the tps button just to check.

Not entirely sure, look at the first picture- is it the orange ((ABS)) light?
I always thought the abs light was a car with skid marks under the tyres?

Ignition on, first click

Ignition on, After running its checks?

Engine running

Just had a look and on the Mk3 the ABS light is the same as yours. The car skidding one is ( I think) the traction control. On the Mk3 when you press the button the message 'ESC restricted' comes up in the display, and the skidding car light stays on. I think,.from the pics, and if you are not flagging up any faults , your ABS is working. Think the problem might be the traction control. What does it say on the button?

Yeah its the traction control I mean, not the abs- my bad!

Looking at it again after looking at a diagram, my traction control light on the dash doesn't even come on when I put the ignition on. It should be just under the engine management light, Definitely something wrong somewhere.

ESP is on the button that wont turn on/off, the traction control and that's the one I'm having trouble with.
Is the traction control not linked to the abs pressure sensor?

Afraid that's the limit of my knowledge. The TCS does use the ABS afaik, but I would have thought that it would flag up a fault on VAG com if it wasn't working. The fact that the light doesn't come on at all does suggest there is an issue. I'd also check the switch. Good luck!

Thanks for the help anyways!
