Top tip for those with OBD11s!

DO NOT LEAVE YOUR DEVICE PLUGGED IN!

I came to a flat battery this morning after leaving my device plugged in over the weekend. According to the Seat Assistance guy, not only does it provide power to the device, it keeps the whole car computer on and doesn't put the car to sleep properly.

Did the Alarm not go off on your phone? "Warning, Device Left in Car" or something like that. Got a fright the first time I walked away from the car. Phone went nuts.

Either way, thank you for finding out for the rest of us newbies the hard way :D

Tell me about it. Mine first went off in Sainsburies!

I thought that warning was a security thing. Either: a) someone could hack my car (unlikley) OR b) someone might nick the device.

Turns out it's warning you that your car will be dead after the weekend.

It's not like your traditional apps, it's more of a paid funcation. Every time you use it to change settings, it deducts the credits.

The best way is to use your free credits and then learn the long coding. It's not hard at all.

Has anyone disabled esc or changed the function of esc/asr button? I'm thinking of switching esc to sport using obd11 but don't want the annoying dash lights telling me it's releasing more ponies

Strange my OBD2 bluetooth dongle (generic one not OBD Eleven) has been plugged in for nearly 2 years and my battery is fine.

Can you have the "cornering fog lights" activated and "fog lights flash with high beam" both activated at the same time without any conflicts ? Thanks

Mine arrived yesterday in the post! Little christmas treat. Wont get to have a play until saturday though  the app seems very nice and easy to use though. Does anyone know how to claim the free credits with the code?

Ahh did not know that thanks for the info. I will look at a different one then but a tablet tethered to a phones internet should be okay?

It is very easy to install android app stores onto a amazon fire tablet, wont take you more than 5 mins and will not effect the warranty on the tablet.
