pushed the button down where the bonnet catch lever is got out and locked the car, it locked like it normally does and then i tried the lock on the key again and it did the double lock
so im not sure if that button does work or how it works.
anyways snow foamed the car today without the alarm going off :D figured the double lock on the remote out right!

tried to push the button above the bonnet catch release, you need to hold it for say 5 seconds until another little red led light appears but i dont know what you do next as i locked the car once with the clicker and it locked the doors like it normally does, i then tried to lock again a few seconds later and it did the double lock that turns off the alarm...so im not sure what the button does. i thought it would do the double lock when i pushed the clicker the first time ?

I think that on all VAG cars with interior monitoring (and some of them like my daughter's late 2009 Ibiza don't have interior monitoring), what you do is:- open driver's door(all other doors+hatch closed) > press and release the "inhibit" button > close driver's door and lock car. I've never ever tried holding that button in for long time.

and does it do the double lock on the first click? or does it just lock like normal on the first click but the alarm is off?

On all these modern VAG cars, this first "locking" press of the fob will operate the lock and deadlock, the second will unlock the deadlock.

The deadlocks are pins that "jam" the locking mechanism, ie if you broke a window and pulled the inside door handle when deadlocks are on, nothing will happen.
The second press will disable the deadlock, that is the noise you can hear as the pins are withdrawn and the interior monitoring will get disabled as well.

thanx a lot man very much appreciated :D
im guessing you can use the button inside to turn off the alarm and lock the car once so the deadlocks are activated. and double lock has the alarm off and the deadlocks disabled.
cheers
