Hey, I've finally registered after lurking on SCN for quite a while in my debate for buying a Cupra K1. I've looked at others online FR, R etc but I really like the K1 styling and don't have the time to retrofit the K1 kit.
I've been looking at the Candy White ones which appear to be the most common but an Inferi Black one has come up for sale near me and I'm going to see it this weekend as I fancy something less common and really like the purple fleck colour. Plus it's a genuine K1 according to the 'How to tell if your K1 is Real' thread so that's an added bonus.
Now the not so great part, it's quite a high miler at 84,000 and as far as I know the cambelt has been done recently as well as a service every year, the first two from SEAT and after that independent garages (roughly the same area).
I'm hoping you guys can point me in the right direction at things to look out for as I've not had a VAG car since my MK4 Golf GTI 20VT in 2012 and cant really remember the common 'faults' - went Vauxhall never again
If I decide to buy it the first thing I'll be doing is changing the oil/filter, camshaft follower for piece of mind and run it on V-Power to clean out any crap (I read the whole carry on with the intake manifold getting coked because of the direct injection)
It's had two owners and appears to be completely standard which means it could be a good base car for at least a remap as the gains far outweigh the cost - smiles for miles and all that!
Any help would be much appreciated!
