I think I will explore Croatia a bit more - Rijeka, Split, Dubrovnik, I have already visited Zagreb, a couple of days here and there, then it's time to go back to work :(.

However I am already planning the next trip and it involves going to the Martorell, Spain factory for the Leon's birthday.

Whilst polishing the car today, I noticed a little spec of rust on my bonnet. Is this something I should be taking to the dealers to sort or is it not worth the time

The paint should be covered by a 12 year warranty so I'd question it

Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk

Paintwork warranty is 3 years. It's the anti-perforation warranty that's 12 years, and with most manufacturers this covers rusting through from the inside to the outside.

Rusting caused by stone chips that haven't been repaired, leaving the bare metalwork exposed would almost certainly not be covered by the warranty, unless it could be proved that there was a defect with the paintwork under the paintwork warranty. Stone chip damage would generally be deemed normal wear and tear.

As suggested by Lentaja, getting a touch up pen is the solution.

Well that's a shame. My front end is covered in stone chips. I don't know what the best solution would be. Get the front end re-sprayed or use a touch up pen for all the chips

I'm sure the paint warranty doesn't include stone chips or any other scratches.

2015 Leon ST FR 184 DSG

Correct Myleon. Stone chip and / or scratch damage to paintwork caused by external means such as other vehicles, stones, plants/trees/branches, humans, animals etc. won't be covered under the paintwork warranty.

If you use the touch up pen, then use something to neutralise the rust first or it will just come back through

Best solution is to go full over spray for the bonnet and front bumper.
if you have a FR you can go "Cupra" look, so you can get two in one ;)

Well meaning work friend told me one of my reversing lights was not working, so spend
a wee 20 minutes taking out the fitment, only to feel foolish when I realised there is only
one reversing light . . . oops !

Im cheating a bit here because it wasnt my Leon but I got to finally drive a Cupra 290 yesterday. What an experience! The power was phenomenal. The noise of the exhaust was amazing and the car drove like a dream. It was a DSG version which I actually loved. Gear shifts were quick! My only complaint is driving in "Cupra" mode keeps the car undergeared which is a small bit annoying but I suppose it makes sense for instant acceleration in that gear. I was depressed getting back into my 1.4 FR :(

That's because you kept the gearbox in 'S' which is the default setting in Cupra mode; you pull it back to put it in D or push to the left to put it in manual mode. What I'm saying is you don't have to stay in 'S'
