That was my exact thought yesterday as I was assembling the engine.

Lot's of smal bolts and bits to source now before I can get it started.
I guess another 4 weeks should give me the time needed before turning the key and cranking the engine.
This build is in something else amazing car and brilliant read and this thing is going to be mental

Angle drive fitting
The angle drive installation might be an easy thing to perform but in my case it ended up being an adventure. A radial shaft sealing intended for the FWD application was preventing me from getting the angle drive to mount up.
At last I discovered the difference and got hold of the correct seal, 02Q409189 enables the 02Q FWD gearbox with a AWD differential to accept the angle drive.
Interesting how you sometimes get all wind up and miss out on minor details...

TTRS Pump
Moving on with the build but slowly, always a gasket or screw missing that I have to order and wait for.
Dropped in the TTRS LPFP (Low pressure fuel pump) and fitted a plug to the secondary support pump output/input.
As you might know the fuel tank is split into two tanks on a AWD set up, in my case it's not and thereby the secondary support pump is not needed yet.
I suspect that I'll have issues with the fuel level readings due to difference of the fuel tank but not a crucial issue at this stage. Should be resolved further on when I go AWD, second phase of this build

Downpipe
The build is moving on despite the lack of posts on here. I really believe I'm in the final stage of sourcing parts for the build...
One of those parts is the downpipe that I at last ordered this week after carefully investigating what the options are.
The kitt comes with a CAT and piping to connect the OEM exhaust fitted on a TTRS/RS3, I'll produce a custom mid-pipe in between to instead connect to my aftermarket 3" CAT back.
My selection was not done due to a specific brand, it was all based on functionality. This APR 2.5T downpipe is casted and has a smooth and large reducing initial neck to allow the exhaust gases to expand and cool down.
This is really the only off the shelf downpipe on the market that according to me makes the transit in between the turbo exhaust side and the downpipe in a proper way, smooth downsize from 4.68" too 3".
Other downpipe options utilize a direct downsizing 3.5" connecting exhaust flange, this prevents the exhaust gases to exit in a optimal manner.
In the image below you can see one example of the (non casted) welded 2.5T downpipe option from the same supplier, have a look on the initial neck to see the direct obstacle the flange creates.

Progress
At last the electical engine wiring, coolant piping, intake manifold and valve cover are all on. Lot's of time used to figure out where goes where but it's been a pleassure to slowly get it all together.
You know the feeling you get when you have 10 puzzle pieces left in a 1000 pieces large puzzle...

Coolant radiator
Ensuring proper cooling with an Mishimoto coolant radiator, increased fluid capacity and optimal heat dissipation as it's larger than OEM.
The 2.5TFSI engines come with an additional smal sized coolant radiator mounted on the front right hand side.
I won't be running with the additional radiator, inteanding to make up for the difference with the Mishimoto coolant radiator.
I'm confident I won't see any issues as I'm not located in a too hot country, additonally I'll be running WMI and a separate oil cooler.

RFD and EVAP
I have this urge to delete features and physical parts that won't contribute to the power curve.
The runner flaps is such a feature, intended to lower emissions during cold engine start up. By deleting them the airflow is optimized as the physical restriction is removed. They are seated in the lower intake manifold as per the image.
The access points for the bolts holding them in place are covered by caps, they were tapped and plugged with angled screws to ensure they won't decide to drop into the engine.
There are air dividers in the cylinder head that in conjunction with this delete are removed, they are in my opinion the largest air flow restriction on the 2.5 TFSI engine.
The charcoal canister is another of those features that had to go. It's a part of the EVAP system that ensures to burn any fumes from the fuel reservoir.
Some hoses, valves and the canister itself can be removed, saving on weight =)

Intercooler
There are many opinions about Intercoolers in general and it's a topic that always is debated about. There are some great intercoolers on the market for the 2.5TFSI but I simply can't justify the cost in relation to what they are capable of.
The cost of the universal intercooler is among the cheapest of the exclusive components I purchased for my build. I selected a universal (Welly cooler) 600x300x76 mm quality Bar-and-Plate Intercooler with staggered/offset fin type.
The design has a optimal cooling effectiveness and low pressure drop, see the attached picture from a known tuner of the design differences. This intercooler will outperform many plug and play designs or be on level with the best.
Being a universal intercooler it requires me to do some custom fitting and piping.
The OEM designed intercooler holds the coolant radiator and AC radiator in place, I'll have to design brackets for the coolant radiator as this Intercooler will not be in the same location as the OEM.
Aligned all the coolers to see the overall pack, I like it.
This cooling pack should handle any heat I throw at it =).

The 034 Motorsport carbon intake and engine carbon where a nice final touch. Thist intake has proven to be a nice power gain, for further details have a read in the attached link.

Some of you might wonder why I painted the valve cover in black as it's originally red. I don't fancy red as it commonly used by so many. I did paint the valve cover at first in yellow, matching my calipers, but was not happy with the outcome so painted it black.
I'll incorporate some yellow details in there later on but not my focus at the moment.
Moving ahead, some obstacles along the way but nothing to serious.
