what did you and your mk3 leon do today

Try parking near the sea and when the car is covered with salty spray, then go fishing in a field with cows about and it is the paint they will remove not just bird droppings. I still remember my dad having a fit when we returned to the brand new Anglia he had and it was down to the metal in some bits.

Finally done a little bit of wrap yesterday, hoping the weather stays nice so I can do the lip and door handles (live life on the edge right?) later today!

Removed front bumper to remove the chrome grill surround and wrapped it in gloss black. Also done the registration plate area. Managed all that no problem but then when I came to the bottom lip... Nightmare kept getting creases so gave up haha

I couldn't get the lower lip to sit right either, it's the corners of it!
How easy was the grill surround to wrap? Was taking the front bumper off essential?

I managed to wrap the grill surround without removing the bumper no problem. Some ways it makes it easier leaving it on the car as there is something to push against during the wrapping.

Ah okay, how did you wrap it? Did you make an 'O' shaped piece of vinyl and lay it over the surround before pressing into place?
Or was it easier to cut four strips of vinyl and use a strip on each side of the surround?
Am I making sense?

I just cut a square piece of vinyl with enough over to wrap around the sides. Once it is roughly down all the way round i cut out the middle to relieve some of the tension.

Go for it cos the end result looks really good. Yes defiantly you need to heat all the corners and push them in

Yeah had the same issues at the corners, going to give it another go at some point. The grill surround was relatively easy to do. Don't think it's essential but think it makes it a lot easier to get into corners etc. The clips on the surround are very brittle. Previously to wrapping it I tried plastidip but it didn't take a good hold and lifted.

Dropped it off at the dealers as when they de-rattled the doors a few weeks ago they didnt plug the passenger window switch back in so it doesnt work!

Sunday had a maintenance visit to the detailer. 6 months on from its new car detail. Last week needed a new windscreen

Got it back from the dealers this morning with a working passenger window!

They "washed" it, but i think they might have dried it with a dirty mud stained rag. Its terrible!!
