They do come out easy. Push away from the windscreen, they come out windscreen side first.
I think I'm the latest one to attempt this, annoyingly this didn't go as swimmingly as I hoped.
Old ones came out so easily @Daire92 they really do, just with a push down towards the car as the bonnet is up.
I think the part I have is wrong though, it looks the part with VW branding, but when I try to clip the new one in it just doesn't clip in. It will stay in place until I close the bonnet, then it just falls off. Might have to be a tape job for me, I think the clips are bust.

I actually got them swapped out the other week. I originally tried back when the weather was just above freezing point and they wouldn't budge. I gave it another go when the car had been sitting in the sun all day this month and they popped right out. I actually reckon the plastic was more flexible because it was warmer and this allowed the clips to bend and come out. I much prefer the new spray pattern now.

Looked in to the issue I have with these fan washers not working correctly. Either both fan washers in or just one fan on the drivers side and one pistol type on the passenger I get the drivers side leaking when I open the bonnet.
Doesn't matter if you swap them, either one of the fan type leaks on drivers side. Pistol type don't.

It seaps overtime when shut (see pink washer fluid on underside of bonnet) The clue is the bonnet sticking to the seal on the baulk head.
Both types don't have one way valves but the fan type let more air (liquid) through when you compare blowing lightly.
Very frustrating.

Mine do this aswell but it doesn't bother me. A bit if washer fluid coming out when the bonnet lifted isn't going to kill anyone.

No that in it's self is more annoying that anything as long as the water doesn't syphon too fast and go inside the bonnet when open.
I'm more concerned about any corrosion caused when water sits between the rubber seal and bonnet when shut. My pink washer fluid is already staining the white paint on the underside.
Need a one way valve maybe. The other cars they are fitted must have this or similar to stop it.

They did the job for me too but I just think the fan works a bit better. It really does a good job of covering the entire screen especially at speed on a motorway.

If i buy the heated version for my MY16 (without headlamp washers), is it easy to make them heated?
Best way is set them then go for a drive and spray them. It only takes a small turn to lower them so trial and error is prob the best way.
Mine look like they are pointed very low but when you are driving they are perfect.
