Drove to Llandudno yesrerday. 3h40 with crap traffic. Stayed in a lovely hotel. Ate in an ace backstreet Italian Restraunt which was recommended by a customer (we'd never have found it) then watched Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott. Then drove home this morning in less than 1hr 40.
Nice weekend so far!!

Question for those who have gone from a mk2 to a mk3:

Is the ride a lot smoother than the mk2.....eg has all the crashing over bumps etc been sorted?

How much better is the mk3 over the mk2?

Yes the ride is better. (comparing Cupra to previous R and FR) car feels a lot more solid than the Mk2. Depends on which model you are looking at really.

Looking at the 1.4Tsi (140ps) FR & the 1.4EcoTsi (150ps) FR on 2014 plates, I'd prefer a 3 door over a 5, but that's not the deal breaker.

Ah, can't really comment then. Remember the rear suspension is different in the sub 150BHP models.

Ahh, forgot about that..... so it has to be an EcoTsi to keep independent rear suspension

I'm not sure tbh. Hopefully someone else will pop up with the answer.
Just looked at the brochure and it appears models 150BHP and below get solid beam rear, 180 and above multi link.

The only models with the independent rear suspension are the 1.8 petrol and 2.0 184 diesel oh and the cupra obviously.
Everything else including the 1.4 ecotsi and 2.0 150 diesel get the solid beam

Drove 30 miles to a gig as the sun was going down, watched my lad play and returned in the dark on quiet country roads. Great drive in a great car, hopefully the first of many.

Last week when washing I found a nasty crease in the leading edge of my bonnet. I was having my wife's alloy wheel SMART repaired by James who does the local dealerships and I asked about paint less dent repair and he recommended Alan from Direct Finish.

So today I waited in for Alan to come and paint less dent repair my bonnet. He did a 100% quality job, he has been doing this over 30 years and works on Ferrari and Aston Martin's for a top car sales company.

They can also do laser cut alloy refurbish, powder coating, wheel straightening, leather and all trim repairs.

Alan did a perfect job. Happy to supply details to anyone who needs them. He covers most of Yorkshire and lives in Wakefield.

Direct Finish do all their alloy wheel refinishing at their site in York and will collect and return wheels.

If all you need is a SMART alloy repair then James did a top job and matched the original paint perfectly on the 5 year old Sri Corsa, again details available if you want them.

How did you do that? What codes?

And the "Lane change flash", how does that work?

infotainment system is switched off

Today ( so far ) I've driven to work with no radio, sat nav, car data, etc etc. :wtf:

Central display just shows the clock, and the instrument cluster display will show mpg / mph stuff, but for audio, navigation etc, it tells me "infotainment system is switched off".

Tried all sorts of button and screen pressing to switch it on, including the button with the wee power symbol ( lower left button ) but no joy.

Tried the Windows method of turning the car off, key out, then turning it all on again. Nothing.

Am I missing some basic thing, or is it broken ?

If you hold down the power button for ten seconds or so it should perform a soft reboot...

...or was that how to set off the ejector seat? Hmmm.

The lane change flash should be standard, it's basically the "3 clicks" of the indicators when is flicked down

The drl option was done via this code;

Mmmm went out to try the 10 second soft reset, and the unit came on right away, before I had the chance to press the on/off button. .

Nothing more frustrating than an intermittent fault.

Is there any way I can access the software revision , in case it's due a software update ?

Many thanks
