Wow great news. I also had an update from SEAT. My car is being built this week (29th Feb) and will be at my dealer by at least the first week in April. Although remember, I'm a 1.0TSI DSG so you've not done too bad really!

Good news then - part of me still wishes I had the DSG in the 1.4. My father has the same engine in the Leon FR and he has DSG which is great with the torquey engine. Seems strange you can't spec the 1.4 in the Ibiza with the DSG.

I used to have the twin charge engine with the dsg too was lovely so easy to drive on long trips :)

Get my car tomorrow finally!!

Must admit, if they'd have done the DSG with the 1.4TSI i'd have had it. What were seat thinking!!

Very jealous of you picking yours up today, looks great! Hope all goes smoothly. Get loads of pics up for us still patiently waiting for ours!!

This not offering DSG with Ibiza FR sounds like a SEAT-UK decision, ie the profile of the typical Ibiza FR driver wants manual trans, which is a pity as it must be physically possible and could have been an optional extra at factory build.

One thing I will say, having never had or considered a "auto" trans in any of my cars, these small TSI engines probably do benefit from having an extra gear or two, as the DSG box will give! Having only once needed to jump out into continuous busy traffic at a large roundabout, you very quickly run out of "go" from first gear, though the car would not have moved so well if starting in second gear - with DSG I'm thinking that situation would not have arisen - and I suppose I should get round to knowing that DSG is actually an automated manual trans.

Wasn't the torque limited on the old twin charged 1.4 with the DSG? I seem to remember something about it. Can't understand why seeing as they were fitted to other vag cars with way more torque.

Don't keep us in suspense - how did it go today?

Hey guys update managed to pick her up this morning well imoressed interior is a step up from previous ibiza models, know I chose alcantara seats but the interior in general is made out of the squidgy soft plastic you get in the leons :) ride is good takes the bumps in the roads better than my previous mk2 leon.
Looks mean on the exterior glad i said yes to the midnight black paint anyways couple of pics :)

that looks really great - I'm coming from a Merc A Class so I really appreciate what Seat have done to the internals to boost the quality of the plastics used. More excited than ever now. What is the road/engine noise like - well suppressed or not?

That looks ACE! I sort of wish I'd have gone for the Xenons again as they really set the look of the car off great. However, I really couldn't justify the cost for the small mileage I do in very well lit areas. I'm gonna miss turning them on and watching them warm up and do their 'dance' :)

As above I'd also like to know if handling and road noise has been improved at all (supposedly it's had a few suspension tweaks?)

How's the infotainment system, did you spec Seat Sound?

Congrats, it's a lovely car :)

Yeah I'm interested in the Carplay software - if you have an iPhone have you managed to get this set up and how well does it work.

Can you do me a favour I am having issues with the infotainment system, it is intermittently restarting itself for no apparent reason, got it book in to be looked at but would be interested if this is happening to anyone else.
