West London were really helpful and said they would always look after the car wherever I brought it from and that it didn't matter. They said they wished they could help but that they just operated a different business model.

Yup. Apparently they meet their target with Seat without having to discount whereas dealers like Eastbourne apparently sell the cars at cost so they exceed them and get a retro bonus at the end of the year from Seat. The manager was telling me how he brought an Audi using CarWow and how brilliant he thought it was and if I wanted more off I should go to drive the deal etc. but that for them they did not need to be on it. I work in sales and personally find that mentality very strange. If I was him and had a client come in saying they want to buy something from me I would do anything to make sure that they did. Even if it was just a one off.

So here's the first picture of my new car at the dealer today, still rapped up in its protective coating. Collecting on the 12th so not long to wait now :D

Why the 12th? Not sure I could wait knowing it was there!! How long did it take to arrive from ordering? I find it strange that even though the factory is closed cars have been coming through. When I was at West London last week they had a whole transporter full of Ibizas arrive.

I Ordered 3rd June so I think that's 12/13 weeks, originally was told 26!
Because of other commitments the 12th is the earliest I can pick it up.
But I don't mind its here in half the time I expected so I can wait 2 more weeks.

Distribution company still works though. Lull wil be when build prior to shutdown clears.

Nice Andy. Getting me in the mood for my own. Black line pack following a steady lead time it seems.

Very happy with the car. Exceptionally comfortable for a performance car, lots of great kit and the performance certainly us a step up from my VRS diesel.

Just one annoyance......Mirror link and Android Auto don't seem to be compatible with LG G3.

So picked my car up at 5 yesterday to then have to stare at it in a pub car park until I could finally drive home at midnight! A blast home to Sheffield from Stoke saw 33mpg and today home from work (33 miles) I got 40mpg and that was with a couple of blasts in Cupra mode!

Different to Scirocco that has gone, seems much higher with more roll in corners but similar switchgear.

Mine came with continentals by the way and all others in the dealership had the same. Looks like Bridgestones have been replaced.

So today I was told by customer services that my car will not be delivered until MARCH due to the standard wheels being on back order. This seems ridiculous!! Apparently the car has a 9 week build time and then another 17 weeks for the wheels. I don't know why that doesn't make the car have a build time of just 17 weeks?

Surely order the wheels now and then when 9 weeks away start the car build so that on the 17th week they have the wheels and car...

I would understand if I was ordering a Rolls Royce but not a Seat. Think I am going to have to cancel the Cupra and look at a S3 which is a great shame as I have fallen in love with the Leon but cannot wait that long. Seat have said they will come back to me by Thursday with an update but that I will not get a build date until a week before the car is made and that whilst March is worst case scenario I will not know until a week before. It just all seems ludicrous. They offered me to change to the Multi-Spokes to bring down lead times but why should I have to pay £500 for an option I don't want? If they would do the car for the same price then I would be tempted but otherwise Seat will lose my business.

I know it's frustrating. I went for multi spokes for the same reason.... I wouldn't however buy a more expensive and most say not as fun you drive car instead.

Is there anything already on its way over or in port? Might not be 100% what you want but could save some waiting/ball ache.
