Hi Guys,

So I've just picked up my brand new Seat Ibiza FR Black! Which I upgraded from a 80ps 1.4 SE.

I have to say, the FR 1.2TSI is miles better than the 80ps 1.4!

Some mods I've got lines up so far are:

* LED side lights: [DONE]
* Brighter/whiter headlights: [DONE]
* Wrap front bumper black: [DONE]
* Paint the cover on top of the speedo black: Pending
* Seat Spoiler and side skirts: Pending
* Red calipers: Pending
* Lowering Springs: Maybe

I don't have any performance mods planned just yet as my insurance company isn't a fan of mods (Hastings). I should be moving away from hastings next year so I'll be looking at them then.

Anyway, here are some pics:

Drivers side has LED side lights and the passenger is standard to compare:

So I've bought the Philips 12972XV+S2 X-tremeVision Halogen Headlamp H7 and they fit great. I would HIGHLY recommend them for the brightness. They aren't as white as the LEDs I fit but they are still better than standard.

Any error lights with those white side lights?

Just ordered a red FR Black 5dr, can't wait for it.

Yeah I can't wait either. But I've just moved house so the budget is tight at the moment. Hopefully I'll wrap the front black soon as that's the cheapest thing on the list.

Looks good, how are you finiding the 1.2 TSI engine? I too have a 1.2 TSI FR Black, just wondering how you're finding it as you've previously owned a 2012 1.4

Yeah it looks good. Top tip, get some good metal polish for the exhaust tips and they will come up really nice. Better than stock, as they seem to have a faded shine look to them.

The 1.2TSI is much better than the 1.4. It's actually got some guts thanks to the torque from the turbo. My only issue with it, which I'm sure you will agree. You just can't wait for that turbo to kick in because without it, it's fairly weak. I've noticed going up hill I'm just dying for 2000rpm+.

I'm now 6 months in and the only advice I'd give to anyone thinking of buying one is... Get the 1.4 TSI instead. I don't mean the 1.4, the 1.4TSI. :thumbup:

Thanks for the advice, I'll be sure to do so!

Yeah I can imagine to be fair, my previous car was a 2005 1.6 Astra and my Ibiza is much quicker, more economical and just generally better. But yeah I agree with the 1.4 TSI comment, I would of definitely gone for the 1.4 TSI except the insurance was way higher as I'm only 19 with less than a years no claims. I got a really good lease plan with my 1.2 TSI, £132pm for 2 years (15,000 miles per year) - The only downside is I can't modify it in any way, unless I put it back to stock before I return it but I don't see much point. I've been looking into getting it chip-tuned as its easily reversible. Have you any experience in the area by any chance?

£132pm over 2 years!!! Who did you have to suck off to get that sort of deal? I'm paying just over £200 for mine over 3 years and that's at 8k per year!

I was thinking of moding it but I'd rather just wait 3 years and put the money towards a Leon Cupra or an Audi S4 Avant. ;)

I bought the 1.2TSI for the exact same reason you did, the insurance is crazy cheap!

I know mate crazily good, considering some of my friends are paying £180 over three years for a 1L corsa haha! I forgot to mention I had to put down a £1170 deposit but even so it's still really good. I got the deal from lease4less, really good company by my experience, I'd recommend to anyone who reads this! They were offering the 2015 1.2 TSI FR Black for £119 personal hire, mines £132 due to upping the mileage - Also, when I've looked back at the site more recently they've put the price up to around £170 I believe so I must've gotten lucky!

Yeah mate I don't blame you, I think I'll probably lease a Leon FR next time around with the same company, I really can't see a downside to leasing except from not being able to modify!

Downside to leasing - paying all that money and having nothing to show for it afterwards... I bought a Y reg 1.2 Fiesta as my first car at a little over £500. Sold it for £450 and over the two years ownership, saved enough to buy my Cupra for £8500. Its all about buying a car, saving up, upgrading. Doing this you should be able to drive a lot of nice cars throughout your lifetime! :) Admittedly, leasing cars means you will be able to drive a lot of nice cars too!

Yeah that is true admittedly, however the way I looked at it was I was getting a brand new car for a small monthly fee, no worries about MOT's or anything going wrong with the car as it's under warranty and just the satisfaction of driving a nice car that nobody else has ragged around.

And as sad as it sounds, I couldn't bring myself to buy a cheap small car to use whilst my insurance drops as my first car (1.6 Astra - as mentioned previously) was a pretty decent and fast first car, I felt as though I could only upgrade! I've got £6k saved up so far, I'm gunna wait until the end of this lease and weigh up my options because at least that way I'll have experienced leasing and know whether it's worth it or not and I'll have more money saved (hopefully)!

Both are good for different people I suppose! A few months after buying my Fiesta I hated it, slow, old, outdated, boring. But at the time I was working in a breakers yard so was dirty oily etc! :)

Thanks! I'm really proud of it and it looks much better in person.

It honestly wasn't hard or expensive to do. Just pop the plates off, place the wrap nice and tight, I used a hair dryer to tighten it up around the edges. Trim the edges off, use the hair dryer to dry the adhesive. Screw the plates back on. Job done.

There are a hundred and one videos on YouTube if you're unsure on how to do it.

This is the wrap I ordered:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B015QLWZ8W?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

I've used 3M wrap before and to be honest this was the same stuff. I'd like to say the 3M wrap ended in a million bubbles but I think I've just learnt from my mistakes. If it's you're first time wrapping I'd probably order 2 of those.

I cut that roll in half and had 2 attempts with it. The first time was dodgy so I pulled it off and put the second one on which worked perfectly.
