I have changed the setting to "Early", but I've not driven the car yet. So will see how it goes.

There is also another menu that allows you to change the hill hold percentage, but I'm not sure what this does so didn't change it. I wonder if this is the key to disabling it, by confusing it with an unobtainable percentage? Similar to the way you confuse the Start/Stop.

Activated the rears to come on with the DRLS today. I noticed that the red LEDs in the interior light/roof cluster and the sidelight indicator on the headlight switch also come on with this mod.

I like to use these to gauge whether or not my main beam is on when it's not dark. (Auto lights & rain etc)

Has anybody managed to activate the rears without the roof LEDs and sidelight indicator coming on?

I've changed it back for the time being.

Changing the setting to early is a massive improvement

Hi guys! I'm just wondering if you could find a place where you can tell the car to remember the checkbox that turns off the backlight of the media system after 10 seconds.
What I mean is that there is the setting in the media system to turn off the backlight of the main screen after 10 seconds of inactivity (when I'm not iteracting with it). My device does not have the navigation module and the screen distracts me from driving especially when it is dark outside, so every time I use the car I have to find that setting and check that stupid checkbox, so and whenever I want the system to iteract with me I just tap on the screen or use wheel buttons, otherwise it just turns off the backlight after a 10 second interval.
The problem here is that the car does not remember that checkbox and I should turn it on every time.
Maybe there's a place that will allow the car to remember that setting, or at least check that checkbox it by default with an ability to uncheck it when I want that screen to be turned on without some time limits?

Change the back-light to Very Low or similar. Works perfect.

How are you exiting the screen after checking the box ?

Sometimes you need to use the return button as a sort of save button and come out of the screen that way.

Some other screens have a save button at the bottom - you need to scroll down to see it.

Change nav unit

Hi, my first post here!

So i managed to break my sat-nav unit thats in the glovebox. When removing the unit i accidentally removed the facia, then trying to put it back, a small cable that i did not see fried the mainboard..

The part number for this unit is "5F0 035 846 A"

But i was wondering if i bought a new unit part number "5F0 035 858 A"

Which is a new type with DAB+, my unit is without DAB+, which this new unit has. Is it possible to just connect an antenna to the unit?

And does any of this require coding in VCDS? And if so, how do i do this?

Anyone know how to allow use of a new card with newer map with out error message ? Can a new one be paired up somewhere? Or enable map care updates?

YOU can't

As discussed in the satnav update thread - the dealer has to code the new card to the car.

No, the return button did not help The setting is still resetting every time...

I've had a play today and got the cornering fogs working. I nearly selected the wrong option, they are very similar. Shame the car doesn't speak English!!

Sixysix - I've enabled the chirp and it's quite understated.. It's not too much like an old 90's alarm.

Also got the reverse mirror tilt working, returns to it's proper place each time I've tested it, just a shame it doesn't go lower!! I've also enabled auto rain closing windows, auto fold mirrors without having to do the long press, increased indicator flashes to 5, and a few other bits from the German forum.

The only other thing I wanted to do but couldn't get to work was changing the sensitivity of the auto high beam, it kept erroring. :-/

Over all, for £12 I'm happy. My main changes that were essential were the mirror fold without having to long hold the remote and the auto mirror dip.

then 16 security
enter 31347
then into function 10
Then you are looking for something like:
(22)-Access control 2-FunkSpiegelanklappung Modus
- I think it might be no 24 on the latest version but its similar enough to find.
Then change the value from "by convenience operation via remote control" to "by look command via remote control key".

check the stemei webpage just shown a couple of posts up. Translate the webpage to english. There are several codes for the DRL's.

Can someone please advise me on the coding to make the front LED running lights activate on unlock by linking it to the activation of the interior lights?

I managed to get the rear running lights and front dipped beam working like this but the front DRL just don't want to work.
