i've downloaded what i assumed is a hooky copy of it, but unless you have the proper cable its no use! it sees i have a cable plugged in, just it tells me it isn't a rosstech one.

yeah, i had used a very old version when i had it on my mk1 but there was a lot of german (would have thought there would have been some translation in there by now!) in there, i remember some things were in there but i think my copy was still quite old for the car and not everything was in there/obvious etc.

I'll have a deeper scan of the rosstech site as i do remember it being quite overwhelming with the amount of stuff on there.

My first reason for buying it was that it saved me around £50 a time for a dealer/specialist to scan my MK4 Ibiza.

Once you can read the fault codes etc - it pays for itself pretty quickly.

If you want to do small changes to help pay for it - many people will bring the instructions they found on the internet and you follow them.

Many of the changes they want a dealer will not do anyhow ( de-activate stop/start etc )

Mines is an SE with Tech Pack incl LED lights, with regard to lighting I enabled the following:

1. Cornering light with Fog Lights (will only work with headlights on either Manual or Auto)
2. Both Fog Light illuminate on reverse (again headlight need to be on)

Both these options seem to be removed for LED headlights, I've just enabled them.

Regards

How did you get option #2 to work. I only get fogs for cornering - is there a different adaptation for reversing?

I have the FR with Tech Pack and a genuine Hex+Can with latest VCDS software version.

Ok info here:

For fogs in reverse When Lights on 09 central electric 16 security access code 31347 Unlock 10 adaptations From drop down select - (1) static light-AFS at Rueckwaertsfahrt Set value to Double Sided from OFF Do It

Hi, ideally I'd like the 'dial sweep' when ignition is turned on, rear lights on with DRL's, mirror lowering in reverse and the auto display fan speed thing.

Ok - all fairly standard. I spend more time on the Briskoda forums than these ones so I can't PM my details. You may be able to PM me, and we can arrange a convenient time / place.

We tried the Corning lights and it just ended up turning the fogs on all the time.

All,

I have tried doing the corning lights with the same settings from the first page but ended up with mixed results.

Both fogs come on in reverse. -Good

Left turn, left fog comes on, but so does the right. - Bad

Right turn, right fog comes on its own - OK

Seems the right one comes on too much.

I have seen several people say they have managed to activate them OK.

So can any tell me the correct options to take

Thanks

Double double check the settings for the left fog as they are in German some are very similar and only the correct one will work.

Left - (5)-Leuchte12NL LB45-light function B12 change to ABBIEGELICHT Links and not ABBLENDLICHT
Right - (5)-Leuchte13NL RB5 light function B13 change to ABBIEGELICHT Rechts and not ABBLENDLICHT

ABBLENDLICHT is low beam & ABBIEGELICHT is cornering

As you have discovered for both in reverse it is (1) static light-AFS at Rueckwaertsfahrt change to Double Sided

Cheers mate

Just checked now. I had the correct setting on the left side. But I had selected ABBLENDLICHT instead of ABBIEGELICHT on the right side.

Thanks again for swift response.

All working a treat now.

There is a lot translated, and i think some is duplicated so maybe they are now in english - trouble is the english isnt that clear on each item and with a lot of the guides online in german its sometimes easier to just stick with the german one you know will work.

I posted this in one of the Briskoda forums a while ago... may be of some use to non-german speakers for use with VCDS.

just tried to change a couple of settings on mine as my cable arrived today.

tried the lock/unlock chirp. changed settings to what are in the first post but still doesnt chirp. either when locking or unlocking. checked settings again and they are all correct.

also tried the HVAC auto fan speed one but didnt work either :(

no idea what i'm doing wrong.

I know with the chirps if you dont do all the changes in a decent amount of time, the security code times out... so could have been that. The fans should be pretty straight forward, so maybe you just changed the wrong code?

So, black_sheep (a member!) above coded some bits on my car this evening and it's great!

I have now read this entire thread and seen a lot of mention of reducing the sound actuator on what I assume are Cupra's? My question is, can you turn it on for a TDI model? Possibly a stupid question..
