Anyone know, what are differences of possibility between OBD port under steering wheel and Seat Portable System port? I think, we will have full READ access, but without modifying parameters as through OBD port.

CAN means we send an Identifyer, then the CAN controller responds. CAN is not an diagnostics/Service port where you can change stuff. OBD II is.

Seat Windows CE

Hi Guys,

I found out that behind the application Windows CE 6.0 is running.
Is there anyway to install/run a application like a custom media player? (VLC or WMP for CE)
Normally there's a application for Windows CE called "WCELOAD.exe" but its missing in the image.

just to add to the hacks already done, I have unlocked the os, (windows ce 6.0) and installed the Mio 4 interface for Chinese sat nav stereos, it runs well on the garmin unit and the bonus is all the new features, like playing movies from sd card, all windows functions, and internet from the tethered phone connection.

had problems with the audio driver not forwarding the sound through the stereo when watching movies, but discovered it works when a song is playing on the media (you get both streams) so I added an 8 hour blank mp3 to run to keep the audio open.

heres some pics, search mio 4 for more info its not my idea but took some hacking from me to get it working on the garmin unit.

I did try that some time ago and notice the same thing regarding the sound!
How did you manage to have internet on the device? The last time that i have tried that, i was unable to connect using bluetooth.

regarding the sound, once mio4 is installed to an sd card (only works stable this way) cold boot the satnav with the sd card out, and then insert the sd once the nav has booted fully, it will then load mio after the seat app has installed the radio drivers on boot (this gets missed if you boot mio from cold) you need to add the user shell.exe and navigation.exe files to the run on boot menu in mio otherwise the seat service gets closed.

now you must add a 8 hour silent mp3 to the media/music folder that mio creates, seats media player goes here first (put normal music in another folder so this happens automaticaly when you press the nav button on radio).

now you should find all the audio from windows and movie is directed through the radio, and the nav button on the radio is back!

im making a video for the bluetooth as it would take an essay to write how to do it!

another note on video playback, i studied the video demo installed by mio and encoded some films and family guy etc and the format is very fussy to get good stable playback, i used these settings:

Video codec: mpeg4
Frame size: 480x272
Video bitrate: 1024
Frame Rate: 25
Audio mp3 2 channel @ 128kbps

these settings gave the best smooth playback without stuttering and pretty good quality picture (probably best possible with this amount of ram and cpu speed)

Yes, I like it. It's more fluent. looks nicer. Live does not work yet, but ill get to that. In addition I might get TomTom Navigator to work too. But thats lower priority.

The maps are already free if you download them from internet and upload them in your /navigon/maps folder

Use of Blue Trainer into Skoda Citigo

Hello guys,
since some months I am the owner of a Skoda Citigo. I did also buy a second hand Garmin VW UP! Maps&More unit. A update with Fresh to version 7.16.8. did function well. Although Fresh recognize it still as a VW Maps&More unit but at my car it opens as a Skoda!

If possible I would like to try the the VW Blue Trainer into my Citigo.
I tried the way as described by robomrburns above (20-03-2015, 21:50)
But this does not work at my Garmin.

Maybe does the option as described by replace the vwbranddevice by a old version from Navigon work?
Is there someone who has tried it this way?

Furthermore the installed France.map is not recognized by the device. No black border around France at the Europe overview map. As I search for Paris it works but as I choose "Navigate to" everything is greyed out and nothing happens furthermore!

Who has a explanation to solve this?

unfortunately the new Eco-Trip Menu does not show up.

Maybe Phers version will be able to do both!

I cannot open the zip folder as I am running windows 8. It tells me that the version of that zip file cannot be extracted due to the file not being compatible with my pc.

Any way round this??

Hello robomrburns,

After installing the files from your last message (#121) and starting up the device I got only the first screen (first picture above). ECO Trip or Performance was also shown but with no result! As I choose "Fahrzeug" (last picture above) I've got only my "standard" screen with "Bordcomputer" and "Status" choice. The "Ecotrainer" choice did not pop up unfortunately!

Or do I need to install other additional files?
