The problem Dean0 will be having is he has the genuine v14 software and they have (by the looks of it) done a lot of translations and moved options around a bit, so its not as easy to find them based on those instructions.

When i get some time I'll prob try and find the new options for the v14 software, I'll do one weekend when I'm bored.

Deano, I'm only an hour away with the old software. Feel free to contact me & if you want to drive down I'll sort it for you.

Cheers CC - may pop down if needed.

Not a major issue at mo cos the car stays in sport mode almost all the time - I prefer the feel of it that way.

Dean0 - so i found the function on my v14 software, its in the same area central elec, security code, adaptations but scroll past all the english translations, its well over half way down but I found the matching one easily enough. I didnt set it as i dont want that on mine, but the option was deaf there mate. I could get a screenshot but i dont think it would be much use, the function is the same name as per the screenshot on the first page.

I want to get the soundaktor / actuator thingy turn off all together and disable the stop/start system. Has anyone got an easy guide for that handy ? I'm planning to ask an Indi specialist to do it for me.

Alternatively if anyone knows how to do it, has VCDS , lives within a reasonable distance from Kettering Northants and wants to earn a few quid give me a shout :)

The soundaktor is pretty easy from when i was looking at the option on mine (but still not got around to doing it myself yet). https://translate.google.co.uk/tran...daktuator-lautstaerke-anpassen.php&edit-text=

The stop/start is a bit of a hack to set the min voltage above 12.1v from what i remember... not sure id want to do that to my own car.first page here says how: http://www.vwwatercooled.com.au/forums/f197/disable-stop-start-vcds-tweak-94276.html

Both of these worked for me.

Thanks Ocularis :)

DEAN0, I saw others have had an error thrown up if they went below 50% on the sound actuator setting, did you get this ? I'm looking to have it set to 0%

Got mine a 19.8% ( put in 20 but it altered it to the nearest available value )

no errors showing up at all.

I can hardly hear it at all at that setting.

EDIT - today I tried 0% setting - the car has accepted that too - no sound at all.

Found them - cheers.

Your right - they are a good way down the list of options. ( Guess I just got option blind when looking through the list )

All sorted.

Result, glad you got it sorted :)

BTW, when you first adjusted your soundakor thing, did you get the "uninitialized control module" warning - and did you go with the defaults of "yes" or try sticking with the all 0's option?

Never got that warning.

Did get one that said input values could not be accepted and should it use the nearest available - I clicked yes.

the 50% requested ended up at 48.9%
the 20% requested ended up at 19.8%
0% requested went straight through at 0% and that's how it is staying for now.
