Hey folks, here's the crack... My LCR is running Revo stage 2 linier. Tho atm it's set up without a fmic. Now Iv got a fmic witch il fit when I can b bothered but I'm thinking about getting my head ported and polished too before I go back to Revo and tweak the mapping to suit.

Any of yous out there got your head ported and what is your opinion on ported lcr with being mapped ect??

Cheers

You'd get better gains for less money by just using a largeport head instead of the standard smallports the LCR's come with

New head gasket and head bolts, intake and exhaust gaskets. You could get a largeport or aftermarket inlet mani but can use a transition gasket if you wanted
AGU is not the only type of largeport either

Sweet I'd prob get one of those sexy SEM motorsports intakes. What else are large port. Obviously I'd have it rebuilt first. Prob worth doing uprated valves while that's being done isn't it?

SEM is a super sexy and arguably the best flowing intake around, however they are pricey
If rebuilding the head only the exhaust valves are really needed as they are two piece standard so on higher powered cars have had these break
You'd be surprised how cheap you can pick up a good condition largport head nowadays

I was looking on eBay mate and there only around 200 quid ish it seems. So you reckon do uprated exhaust valves and the others standard? SEM is def on my list mate there a work of art.

These heads can be picked up quite commonly or well under £100 if looking in the right places.
Cams would only be worth it if running big turbo, would be wasted on a k04.
Id get a head and have new guides fitted with some Inconel exhaust valves. Cams are a drop in item that can be added later

What's the large port head from? And for the price of buying a large port head and rebuilding it would it not be similar price to just getting mine ported as Iv been quoted £300 for it and obv manifolds matched too. Also am I wasting my time or is it worth the gains?

If your looking to port and polish anything the hot side of your turbo will give you the best bang for buck.

What do you mean?

Cheers for the info guys
