The factory order fulfillment system is absolutely batshit bananas crazy - I also ordered a Cupra of very similar specs towards the end of June (so just before you did), however I was told last week that I wouldn't see it till Nov/Dec!! There is no logic that explains this

To be honest Seat's allocation of dates and builds is an absolute joke. Some seeing 11 weeks and others knocking on 28, no rhyme or reason. Do they use Guinevere and set of balls number six to decide when to build customers cars?!

If they did use Guinevere, I would have been screwed :)

When I ordered mine, the dealer did say that they had another in the order process (a new 64 demonstrator) that they could adapt for my specifications. I always took that with a pinch of salt but maybe that is what is happening.

I did try emailing SEAT customer services a week ago to see if they could shed some light on my 6 month delivery timescale. Their response..... I'm still waiting.

Prob better of ringing them if you have an order number. When did you order. Your not on your own mind on the wait.

Ordered beginning of August with an original delivery estimate of the end of October. I have subsequently been given a scheduled build week (provisional I guess) of Week 02, January 2015. Not desperately upset, but it would be nice to know what's causing the delays. Even an acknowledgement of my email would have been appreciated. Not a great start to my SEAT experience.

I was given a six digit order number by the dealer, but assume that this is the dealer's own ordering system. Six digits seems a little too small to be SEAT's system. What does a SEAT order number look like ?

No. Fairly run of the mill order I'd say. 5dr manual, white, SEAT Sound System and Adaptive Cruise Control.

Pretty much my spec only I went with red. I ordered mine on the 22nd of August and I got build week 40.

Have no idea why you got such a long wait. Gutted for you mate. Nothing worse than waiting.

Cheers. Just make sure you post pictures and tell me it's worth the wait once yours arrives.

I can guarantee photos. Lots of photos.

On the bright side, you may find you get one earlier due to someone else pulling out as your spec is very common! ;)

Posted in the other thread but figured I would post here too.

Ordered a Cupra 280 5dr DSG in phantom black. Black + white strip leather seats, winter pack, and SEAT Sound.

I don't have a delivery or build date, but the initial estimate nationwidevehiclecontracts.co.uk supplied me with was that it would arrive with the dealer on Jan 15th 2015. Order was only put in on the Monday earlier this week, so it's going to be some time before I get a more accurate picture.

Really can't wait though. Upgrading from a 1.6TDI ibiza, which is the fastest car i've ever had (it was also only my 2nd car). Should be a nice little performance improvement!

I have been told there is a 6 week delay because they have run out of stock of the Cupra alloys, and the august break cause issues. To be honest they all knew the august break was happening so that should always be taken into account when giving eta's

Thanks all - somehow it seems a little better knowing why. If I add 6 weeks for the wheels to a months delay for the August shutdown - that takes me to around mid-January which is in the right ballpark. Lets hope whoever manufacturers the wheels was a little pessimistic with their supply dates.
