Congrats and enjoy! Got to say the build scheduling all seems so random. There must be some logic to it. Can anybody beat a 2nd Week of January build date ?

I will be but only in about a years time

Things come to those who wait :)

If it was a retrofit package I'd get one! But it's not, and TBH, I'm not keen on the new wheels anyways!

The kit seems to be bits that could be retrofitted, I suspect it would look too expensive as an after kit as you couldn't subsidise the cost of the bits from the standard car.

I am taking our Cupra (well mrsforge's daily) on track in a week or two and see how it is standard and if there is need for a sub8, be comparing it to my previous GT86.

Cool. Let us know how it goes, especially if the brakes keep up. I want to get a few track days in in mine next summer! :D

Will do I'll stick a post up when I've been with some thoughts on how it went and if and what needs improving, my driving aside thats a given ;) I've two before the years out Snetterton and Oulton.

Brakes are what concern me most, they have been a week point on other cars I've tracked, we will see at least there is a factory upgrade path. :D and if I did a Sub8 build I'd have the tyres too.

Apologies if the above is a bit Off Topic to the thread.

Yeah, I'm sure it won't be long until brake upgrades are available. As said, the Sub8 brakes would be perfect as a retrofit!

There is hope:)

I have just had an email from my dealer to say my car is built (a week + early) and has gone to shipping which means it will arrive in the UK next week. He reckons I could possibly have the car before the end of the month:clap:

Further email from my dealer.

My car has arrived in the UK should be at the dealers this week. I will probably collect it a week Thursday. It's going to be a long 10 days!!

Just ordered mine this weekend. Should arrive beginning of September in time for the UK 64 plate.

Leon Cupra 5dr 280 Manual with
  • SEAT Sound System
  • Spare Wheel
  • Phantom Black
  • ACC

Was debating the colour as my current FR is slate grey and wanted a similar colour but Monsoon is a little too light for my tastes. Just means I will have to clean it more as the black will show up dirt a lot more than my current one. But then who cares, its a Cupra 280 :D

OK, they were optimistic quoting the beginning of September but I received a call today to say it had arrived in the UK and will be with the dealer Monday next week. So for an order placed on 5th July, it will have taken 11 weeks (including dealer time). Not too bad as this did include the slow down weeks in August.

Now just hope they have got it all correct.....

Wow, another brilliant turnaround.

The factory order fulfillment system is absolutely batshit bananas crazy - I also ordered a Cupra of very similar specs towards the end of June (so just before you did), however I was told last week that I wouldn't see it till Nov/Dec!! There is no logic that explains this

Hope the pickup all goes well for you, enjoy it !

Was that via a broker ?

It was via DTD - which I don't really consider a broker seen as they just put you through to an approved Seat dealership.

All good now though - managed to snag a very similar spec production order with a guaranteed build week at the end of Sep, so should be here for end of Oct.
Just wanted to point out how it all appears to be about luck with the build week and that there's massive variations in how they get assigned.
