So i decided to make a build thread to show everyone the progress with my car. I also thought i'd include a mini how-to so that some people can see how some mods etc are installed.

This is going to be a picture heavy thread so just warning you now

My first car at 17 was a Seat Leon 1.6sx. It was lowered on coilovers, had tinted rear windows, xenons, upgraded back box, LED tail lights, and was sitting on some gloss black 18" alloys. I owned this for a few months until someone crashed into me :(

My second car was a Honda Civic EP2. I went a bit crazy with this car. I sorta had to get it all out of my system haha. Too many mods to list

Now finally i decided to upgrade. I had my heart set on a Leon Cupra R 225 but moving from a 110BHP car to 225BHP was a bit extreme so i decided to be sensible and nice to my wallet and got a Leon Cupra 180. Completely standard

The first mini mod i decided to do was install flat aero wipers. I searched the forum and found that the wiper size is 21" and 19". But unless i upgraded the wiper arms as well the passanger wiper would not have fit. So i ordered 21" and 18". They look quite nice and sit better than the standard wipers. Although the arms are a bit funny shape and i see why people upgrade them. This will be done in the future!

This is a link to the wipers i ordered if anyone needs them. £6 can't go wrong

The second mini mod i did was upgrade the interior dome light. I was looking through my box of car bulbs and realised i had some bulbs laying around from my first leon from 3 years ago! So i went and stuck in this LED light. I took a picture to show you how to take off the cover to get to the bulbs.

Just get your fingers around the lense and pull it down. It should come off with ease

ssJY6ON.jpg

Next take out the standard bulb. MAKE SURE ITS NOT HOT BEFORE GRABBING AT IT and replace with your LED bulb.

ofTBn67.jpg

The bulb is a Festoon 42mm LED bulb. My one only has 3 LEDs on it but there is plenty of room in the dome to upgrade to a 42mm bulb with more LEDs in it so it is brighter.

This is all i have done so far. I'll keep this thread updated constantly because i have no life. Hope you guys enjoy. Feel free to ask any questions

So i've been kinda slacking lately. I recieved all my lights. I ended up buying some interior lights that were too powerfull and blew a fuse so i ended up replacing the fuse and taking out the lights.

To be fair the lights cost 99p and worked. So for sidelights they would be great! Here's the link if anyone is interested

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-T10-W5...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item56657ff03b

So i bought these ones and they work great!

I then wanted to replace my rear interior lights above the doors with LED ones. However after a comparison it turns out that the standard bulb spreads the light better than the LED one. Oh well, LED still looks nicer so i replaced that one as well

k1XRlGp.jpg

The guide i used to replace the rear light was on this forum and can be found here:
http://seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=244464

The LED bulb i used was
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Golf-M...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a88cb6f8f

But i would reccomend this one

My enginge bay was a bit dirty so i decided i would go to my local car wash and get it cleaned. The job they did was bang on! £10 to clean it. But i paid another £50 for them to shampoo my interior, do minor scratch removal, polish etc. Basically a deep clean. The car was shining under the light when i went to pick it up. Me being me forgot to take pictures. Now that i drove it to London and back it needs another wash :(

As you can see in this picture i also replaced my aerial with a shortened one

NOJtF35.jpg

I had a security locking aerial and i did some research on how to take it out. People on this forum either don't eat their vegetables or exaggerate ;) All i had to do was firstly unscrew my old aerial until it wouldnt come out any further. Then wiggle it in a circular motion and pull it upwards while holding the base.

The aerial i got was this one

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BLACK-BUL...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item19ea8eb847

The screw comes in 2 parts. I thought it was broken at first but realised it was 2 different sizes so it would fit most cars. I ended up using the screw that had a big and small size. The big side screws into the aerial itself and the smaller one into the base of the aerial on the car. Just a tip in case anyone wants to order one. I was going to do a step-by-step on how to replace the aerial but this should be enough hopefully. If anyone wants, i don't mind doing one.

My trip to london was to pick up a set of alloy wheels. I saw the price on them and got happy. They were the right stud pattern, right width, right offset and in perfect condition. It totally went over my head that the centre bore was a bit too small for them to fit the hub on the Leon. I was gutted. Anyways, here they are

p6YsVgG.jpg

1Ua8Ksk.jpg

And a quick little edit my brother did on his phone to see what they would look like

15xLRNK.jpg

Now im back on the search for alloys again :'(

Looks good so far mate.
What's the intention??? all out modding or sleeper??

Gonna mod it until i run out of ideas. The furthest i'll probably go with it performance wise would be a stage 2 map with all the mods

I've been slacking recently. I have been busy with Uni, so i got a mini update.

I sold the wheels that i bought originally and ended up taking a £10 loss :( Oh well. I also had time to put some LED numberplate lights in. I'm actually quite impressed with how bright they are. If you take your average 14 plate car and compare the plate lights, mine are at least 3x brighter lol

If anybody is interested in the lights i bought. I got them here:

Alrighty then time for an update!

I wanted to lower my car and after doing some reseach on the forum it looked like most people went with the AP springs + shocks which gave the car a 25-30mm drop if i recall correctly? Well... that wasn't really low enough for me and after speaking to Damian from DPM performance on the forum i went with the 50/40 ST by KW springs and shocks combo!
I put my order in on friday and on the following monday i was greeted with a massive box! Talk about fast delivery :p

UZASC7z.jpg

So this is how it was sitting before

After lowering

Comparison

7PG95wm.jpg

Much better now! The handling is a lot more responsive and firmer and honestly the ride has hardly been comprimised even with a drop like this. It's bouncy in some places but hardly noticable! I'm really impressed and Damian was really helpful with answering my questions i posted on the forum to him.

Next up, i bought a second pair of headlights as i noticed that at night when i turned mine on there was some build up on the inside of them? It was hardly noticable but i knew it was there and it bothered me. So i got a second hand pair which was almost brand new but unfortunatley it was the same thing when i turned them on at night... oh well :(

While the headlights we're being replaced i threw on an 8K H7R HID Kit, some T10 LED side lights and LED Fog lights along with some blue tint indicator bulbs.

Indicators

kbPnEwo.jpg

Side lights and fogs (Just a note, the side lights for some reason had a slight violet tint to them, not quite sure why)

5dFEzgI.jpg

Xenons + Sides + Fogs

gSJUkOm.jpg

VbTa3G6.jpg

As you can see the fogs are bright white and the xenons have a blue tint. I'm planning on tinting the fogs so it wont stay like that for long...

Next up, i ordered a rear wiper conversion. I was going to go with the skoda conversion but it was a bit too costly for my liking and wasn't too much of a improvement anyway. So i got the eBay one instead.

First step to removing the rear wiper was to get your fingers under the cap and pull it off

H4GXmhH.jpg

Next, undo the nut. But often it's very stiff to take off the wiper arm still so throw on a bit of WD40 top and bottom and wait 10-20 mins.

OzMOcKj.jpg

Next, just give it a good tug and it should come off. Don't be scared to use force, it is a pain to pull off most of the time. You could also use an extractor but i didn't have one handy. Then grab your new wiper and just do the reverse of what you just did. It's pretty straight forward

hIoUPNO.jpg

Much better!

Anyways. Here are the links to all the items i bought if anyone is interested...

Good upgrades. Do you know if the wiper conversion enables you to fit a flat blade on the rear?

I was wondering this as well because the wiper blade they sent me to attach onto the arm was a bit weird. I'll message the eBay seller and ask what kind of blades i need to buy to replace it when it gets worn and post a link up in here

Hiya mate, nice to see someone else from Bucks and I'm pretty sure I've seen your Civic about a few months ago near the Wendover road?
Liking the car so far, but quick question. When you lowered your car, did you get any issues with the ARB fouling on your drive shaft at all? I'm looking to lower my Yellow Cupra TDi about 40mm but with the space that's between the shaft and ARB now, that will take me right to the limit of clearance?
And also, when buying the kit do you actually get the drop it states or 10mm less to compensate the cupra being 10mm lower as standard?

Yeah that was me. I live on wendover road :p

When its lowered by that amount it will be right on the limit with clearance so you can get away with not having to upgrade your ARB etc. And i think you get 10mm less by the looks of it which is why i chose to go lower than the standard most people reccomend on here

Yeah I'm down your little service road every day to drop my girlfriend off at her work haha.
Ah cool, I'll probably be going 40mm after I've saved enough pennies after getting my intercooler
