Mine wont be, apparently it needs to be inspected by customs. What the betting that they will take one look at it and realise that the import charge should be 10 times what was declared? :/

Ahhh gutted.. Sure it'll be ok as you have already paid it? I 'think' mine is out for delivery now..just says departed facility in East Midlands UK - delivery is still end of day today! Keep us posted with yours Dan!!

The actual invoice says $30 mate, so I don't think they can just charge you a figure of whatever they feel like, it has to be based upon the invoice total.

I take it the machined end goes into the cupra pipe work on the car? And the other end of the pipe is clamped onto the cooler? Cheers Josh!

Yeah, it's a very tight fit, I got the f**king hump with it and hit it into place with a mallet.. Not hard but a slight whack, and it went in, then I slid the silicone over the end and then tightened it all up, and then put the clip back around it, job done!

Does anyone know if an S3 intercooler with plastic end tanks is worth selling or what it's worth with hoses?
Fitted my airtec stage 2 intercooler today

Well i think mine has finally cleared customs (i think), the DHL updates are useless. Not in such a rush now as i won't be fitting it until next week sometime.

I bought and fitted the China intercooler about 8 months ago. It's been faultless and was a easy direct fit. These coolers are just unbranded ths and airtech. The only differences that ths and airtech do, they supply there own silicone. I bought mine from alibaba way before they come onto the ebay scene, even then I paid £190 delivered and had no import charge.
After doing my second rolling road day, and the fmic being the only difference, I made 7bhp 20ftlb more, this was also a very hot day, previous dyno was done in the middle of winter.
It's been worth every penny.

Hi guys, sorry to sound like an absolute newb (but i am), Will the Ebay intercooler be suitable for a 2.0tdi mk2 ?? I was looking at the Darkside s3 but as alot of you are recommending this unit i figured i would give it a go as long as it will fit. Many thanks

unless you are planning a large turbo development i think your money would be better spent elsewhere tbh, but in answer to your question it would fit, pipes probably different but the cooler itself is the same
