I ordered a Cupra 280, 5 door with a manual box. Got a substantial discount at the dealers, which even with all my options worked out cheaper than the list price.

Opted for Emocion Red. How long has everyone been waiting for the car to be built and delivered, as the dealer reckons on 2 months.

:D
I wouldn't hold your breath on that. Seat don't have any sort of system when it comes to ordering. It seems to be luck of the draw at the min.

So, usually longer? Or faster? Faster is bad as my Evo is not sold yet

Longer is fine though. I can always walk to work. [B)]

TBH, I can live with that. Be nice to have it for Christmas though

I'm just exited about having sat nav and heated seats :D

Don't get too excited about the sat nav. It is laughably crap and has taken us on all sorts of weird routes. Of particular amusement was driving out of Cherbourg when she told me to turn right. The road we were on at the time ran along the coast with nothing but sea to the right.

I'd much rather trust mapfactor with free OSM maps on my phone than the built in GPS.

I am curious as to a) Why did SEAT release the 265 and b) Why did anyone buy one.
Honestly, I would have been tempted if it was available in 5 door.

Reasons :-

1. Cheaper
2. Don't have to take the awful sat nav
3. 18" alloys with a standard rather than machine cut finish (which, less face it are a better proposition for UK roads)
4. You wouldn't notice the few HP less on the road. Torque figure is the same.

The 265 is a price point model not expected to sell in the UK, but more likely in other parts of Europe. If someone in the UK does order one they are built on demand, no stock is made or kept for the UK.

Have to agree with you on this. I recently did my first few long journeys in my Cupra, Heading from Milton Keynes to Pembrokeshire I was driving through Bicester (which was the plan) when the Sat Nav decided we were in Wolfsburg, Germany. No doubt down to some weird VW homing instinct but not a lot of use - weirdly it seems more likely to 'do a wrong 'un' if I set it using voice controls rather than keying the address. And has anybody figured out if you can input a postcode?

The postcode entry bit is easy enough. When you select town there is a button at bottom of screen labeled "PTCD". Whether you arrive at said postcode at the end of your journey is a different question!

Mine couldn't find my mother in law's address (no jokes, please!), so I saved the co-ordinates whilst parked outside her house and then added it to the address book. When I checked it the next day it had seemingly decided it still didn't have a clue where Bradfield, Berkshire was and had changed the address book entry to Bradfield, Essex! Idiotic machine!

Funny, my sat nav has worked perfectly since I got the 280, never used the voice control but. Used the co-ords bit too and worked fine, the only strange thing is that once you save an address to it, it goes in the saved dest memory, but I notice there is also a favourites, and can't work out how you put anything there. Anyone done this, as I maybe just missing something.

Almost decided

Hi All,

Almost, nearly decided to get a new Cupra. First the first time in my life decided to have at least one totally brand new car before I pop my clogs.

Currently got and old jag x-type diesel which I think is a great car, but it's time for a change...

Been on the configuration thing on seat website and it seems to insist I have the sound system if I want the spare wheel, surely this can't be right ?

Help persuade me to buy this machine ;)
