Try and do a direct back to back test and see if it does really add anything.
RR with oe, rr with new
And on the road logging charge temps with both.
On a like for like - so both with aircon removed or not.

I'm not convinced in the slightest that you will gain anything like as much as 15 - 20 BHP just purely from the Intercooler change.

Don't get me wrong, every little helps and cooler is better, just not convinced you are going to see that big a difference. I've seen front mounts hurt power and spool all be it on other makes.

the only coolers ive seen hurt power is ones that have small in/out lets and poor flowing pipe work with sharp bends.

its all air about flow.

When you were running Revo software stage 2+ what timing were you abke to run with your eurojet cooler?

Why does the car have more punch to it through the mid/high range then?

Because it's allowing more timing at these points where a standard cooler would be inefficient and AIT's would rise causing timing retardation at higher rpm's. It's the equivalant of driving the car on a really cold day

So when winter rolls around I should be theoretically driving a Bugatti... ;)

haha :p Yo ushould put it on a roller in summer, then the same roller on a cold day in winter, then you can see the difference on a tuned car. I've seen 20 bhp difference

I've bought an airtec stage 2 cooler and hoping to run timing 6 instead of 5

Marshall so you are aware, avoid boost 9, it makes less peak power, best set up for over all power on my car was boost 7 timing 6 fuel 6, by far ;) When i had REVO

I only pulled 330bhp in the middle of summer on the standard intercooler on stage 2+ - APR v3.4, it was baking in and outside so I'm assuming the heat did my RR figures no favours

Absolutely not! You have to remember the amount of boost that is requested with APR v3.4. To maximise benefits you need a cool charge, i would always say to people to run a "proven" upgraded intercooler and WMI set up. On the same day an S3 with basic stage 2+ mods (HPFP, exhaust, induction kit, APR V3.4) made 343bhp my car went on aftero n the same 98 octane setting, power mod differences were, BSH turbo discharge pipe, BSH throttle pipe, eurojet intercooler with no aircon condenser or pump with smaller pulley and the devils own water methanol injection set up and custom high flow manifold with RFD delete to begin spraying at 12 psi and i made 384 bhp on same file. 41 bhp difference due to cooling efficiency and flow allowing the APR v 3.4 to optimise timing vs boost:)

No probs mate, only my 2p worth :) Remember V power is much better for timing advancement than tesco 99 momentum, ive proven it tons of times on logs with both fuels. Fuel quality makes a HUGE difference as well when running these fine tolerances
