i brought my s3 intercooler from toosmiles on here 2nd hand but it looked brand new, it will be up for sale this weekend as ive just brought the one in the link, i just cut off the metal sleve on my pipes on jubilee clipped them on, you need m6x16mm bolts as well because the standard ones are different.

Sorry if I've said this.. But what intercooler pipes are you using a full Darkside kit? Or just the s3 DS hoses?

you can pick the same style intercooler up for £250 cheaper brand new.

Same style, so it looks the same just?

I would be more worried about what was going on inside it not to mention who made it and if it was made in someones shed rather than the same style.

For an important part such as an intercooler I would rather use tried and tested parts, you get what you pay for and as the saying goes " buy cheap buy twice "

Why is everyone else with a 2.0TFSI not using it? I will tell you why because its not tried and tested and people dont want to risk possible damage to there car.

Each to their own.

Everyone else has just started to wake up and smell the coffee thats why nobody has them.
ive compared the china cooler to the THS intercooler and its the same as the china cooler in every way, not just looks, the core is the same inside and out same with the silicone piping.

the buy cheap you buy twice is motto is bulls**t. Most companys buy/build from china as there cheap, they just put there own branding on then charge obscene amounts for them.

so your saying the wellycooler is crap because its cheap and the core is made in china? (if you dont know what one is then do a search)

everyone else has just started to wake up and smell the coffee thats why nobody has them.

Okay chaps, I finally finished it tonight.

So, first things first, what you need to buy, china kit. That's it.

Turns out Darkside import these from china and whack a label on them and resell them. The intercooler goes in as S3 does, the only thing I would advise is getting some more robust screws, M6's I think? And also some longer screws to screw into the side fixings that sit onto the intercooler itself to pull it forward away from your pipes which may hit your fans.

So I made the stupid mistake of not checking the fittings properly, and assumed that the china ones were incorrect, no. All they needed was a little tap with a hammer to knock them over the lip and into position, if I had realised this earlier, I would have saved myself £100.

So, all in all, for £189, a sh*t load of swearing and a sore back you can have an S3 cooler which runs spot on!

I will try to do a proper write up soon, I couldn't take pictures as my iPhone died, but if you follow the guide from APR and also Forge it's pretty straight forward.

Good luck!

No chance of sending the dark side hoses back? Distance seller regulations etc?

Thanks for the heads up though. How does the car feel?

Banksy-thank you for the pm and offer on your S3 one, but I think I'll go for one of these china coolers! Cheers though! :)
