Does anyone else lose DAB radio reception when they turn on the heated rear window? Bit annoying when you're de-misting.

Not for me. I use the DAB radio all of the time and definitely put the heated rear window on at the weekend and didn't lose the radio.

Tested for you before leaving work tonight. No loss of Team Rock Radio with the Rear on so I headbanged the whole way home :-D

Mines ok. It could be some random RFI. If you have a little portable radio tune it to am 550 and see if you get **** loads of noise out of it when you turn the heated window on

My other thought - if the aerial for the DAB isn't near the rear window, could it be a dodgy earth somewhere?

End of the day it's under warranty so let the dealers scratch their heads whilst you put a courtesy car through its running in period in 2 days straight.

I could be totally wrong, but the DAB aerial might be in the rear window? So possibly a short somewhere

I use the DAB all the time and have never experienced a loss of signal when using the heated rear windscreen.

Does anyone know where the aerial is? I've always assumed it's built into the rear spoiler?

I'm going to try it tomorrow when I'm in the centre of Glasgow. Could be that my house is in a marginal signal area.

Pretty sure the aerial is in the rear window, think that's what the vertical lines are.

Well I've had the chance to try this again in a few different locations and it appears to be working fine, which is odd but good.

I've noticed some drop off in reception driving about my home town so the original problem could well have been due to a very marginal signal to begin with.

I never bothered taking it back to the dealer to get it looked at as it's pretty infrequent that I have the radio and the heated window on at the same time, but it does still affect me.

I've decided to just mention it to the dealer when I take it for it's first service and see if they can find any issue with it then.

I had the same problem. Seat informed me the antenna for the DAB runs through the rear screen and can short. They replace the back screen
Just had mine done last week and now working fine with the DAB and rear screen heater on.
They are aware of fault
Hope this helps
