Great thread. Looks good. I noticed you have the short shift with the lift reverse. Does that fit to the push down stick reverse. I was just about to send mine back as ordered wrong but if I can just slide off the spring and outer part then that's a winner.

Yeah it will. Short shift stick converts it to lift up reverse.

I need to brace my bonnet catch to as it bends a lot.

Good idea what you've done. ill copy or get some aero catches.

I thought about areo catches... But wont they be dodgy for you trying to fit them to the carbon bonnet?

Done some work on the car today in prep for the winter months...

Raised it up a little to make it more 'practical'

The back arches had some surface rust on the inside, so decided to give them a temp fix so they didn't get worse with all the salt on the roads etc.
Used T-Cut to get away the rusty surface then rubbed down the bad areas.
Masked it all up in preparation for giving it two coats of primer and two coats of paint!

Forgot to take a picture of the rust before I done all this. So only got an after shot

As you can see it's not perfect but a lot better than before. Will prevent it from getting worse!

Will get them done professionally next year.

My clutch pedal has started creaking really badly, so I investigated to see if I could lube the problem away.
Turns out I couldn't stop the creaking. Done some research and apparently I need to bleed the system, as my bite point is pretty low and stiff.
So that's my next job! But while I was down there I tightened up the two 13mm bolts on the steering shaft since its a 2min job!

Hopefully get the problem solved on Friday, half day at work. So that's when I try get most things done!

Well I never got the clutch squeaking away, such a frustrating and irritating noise!

Battery died last week so got a nice new one on warranty, Halfords is useful for some things I guess

Finally wired up my Oil Temp and Volt Gauge... fully operational now!

Clocked these miles early last week driving to work...

Still driving sweet too!

That's pretty much all I have to report on my car. Been too busy distracted with my girlfriends new purchase (by me persuading her to buy it of course )

She got herself a wee Lupo GTI...

Lovely car... Always had a soft spot for these. Nice that its the 6spd version with the optional extra leather seats etc too

It needed some work done to it and a little tidying up. Was happy to do it for her...

Back discs needed replaced as they were rather pitted and worn.

Ordered new discs and pads and cleaned/painted the calipers with some fresh paint

Fitted my old 280mm setup I had on the front of the Cupra, since I've upgraded to the 312mm bad boys

Standard Lupo GTI 256mm vs 280mm

Phone ran out of batteries after this pic so never got any of them fully fitted and painted up. But you get the idea!

Next day I gave it a good polish and wax to protect it through the winter months...

Bought some seat covers for the Recaro's so they don't get wrecked over the winter months and keep them in mint condition

Received a parcel from Chambers through the week ...

Neuspeed 25mm Rear ARB. Gave it a clean, lick of paint and put a fresh sticker on it...

Its quite a challenge trying to line up and subframe yourself lying under the car

Next up was to get the wheel alignment done as that was all out after fitting new ARB

So went to a good mate Dougie @ Trix to get it all lined up!

Car was looking filthy so gave it a blast of snow foam...

Bought a Dension Ipod Adapter of a fellow Cupra owner... Pretty hard to come by these.

Begin fitting...

Making sure everything is all working sweet before I put the facia back on...

All fully running and back together...

No longer and need for CD's

I really need to hurry and get a red illuminated boost gauge

Feels awesome, big difference indeed. Nice and tight!

Need to get some new tires though... They are pretty bald!

Update

Cutting a long story short, the insurance situation still hasn't been resolved. Getting closer to a result though!

Nothing much has happened since my last update except a lot of this...

Been neglected in the cleaning area also... Pretty filthy!

But bought a LCR/S3 inlet cover though...

Been busy moving units and all my stuff to the new one, including this unicorn haha

In it's new home...

And my new unit (Which includes the 3 lock ups )

Seen a silver door going at a good price so decided to buy and fit it as I was getting so annoyed with my current leaking one.

Temp fixed the rusty/bashed sill to make it look a little better...

A lot of faffing about to change everything over inside...

Fitted.

Decent colour match, not so much in that picture though as the rest of the car is dirty against the clean door

The new parts part...

Took out this Rockingham full cage a couple of weeks back for my Ibiza

Just need to get it powdercoated then bolted all in. Will be later on in the year :rthumb:

Purchased a OMP deep dish wheel with snap off boss and a pair of stubby mirrors

Just fancied a wee change from my Momo wheel and couldn't refuse the deal for that and the mirrors lol

Had to replace the alternator on the girlfriends Lupo GTI.

So whilst it was there I gave the engine bay a good seeing too. Cleaned, tidied and painted areas to make it mint again!

So it would have been bad not to give my engine bay a quick seeing too...

All clean for now!
