Went into my local seat today to look at options for getting a new car. I have a ibiza fr 1.2tsi for past 18 months on pcp deal.

Ended up walking out ordered a Leon FR that few months old. Has 4700 miles on it and is ex seat management.

Specs are:
Lima green
1.8 tsi manual
then basically every extra you can think of bar the sunroof.
black 18 inch seat alloys
black roof
30 months warrenty and 2 years free servicing
supaguard protection pack.

Talking to the dealers, they said they basically ordered a fully spec leon fr, then had some spare black alloys so added them, then thought it needed something else so they wrapped the roof in black!

Got it all for smudge over £20k.

They offered me £1000 more for my ibiza then any other online place did (got valuation from auto trader which valued at 7.5k , they offered me 8.5k for it!

Am paying an extra £120 a month than my ibiza but i get a much better car, much more power, much much much nicer inside!

Any comments / opinions, have i got a good deal etc..

Will pick it up sat so will post photos

Found a photo on seat website so here it is below

Yeah, and they probs charged you more interest to cover 'offering' you £1000 more

As long as you are happy mate, but you wouldn't catch me paying 20k for a SEAT lol

Nothing wrong with paying 20k for a SEAT

but does seems a lot for a 2nd hand Leon but as said as long as you are happy that's all that matters

yer i thought that, i did go in with plan of ordering a new one, but they had this for sale and i thought im never going to get a car like this for my price brand new.

They originally offered me £75 a month more than i was willing to pay, but got it down in the end, no idea how they spent a while doing it. They did seem rather keen on selling it which i found weird, then all told me how they had it for a weekend and loved it .

I got it paying a tiny bit more than i wanted to, but got a higher engine and much more extras then i expected so im happy.

speced it up online and without including the alloys and roof it comes out at 26k brand new. so mabye add another 1.5k on for alloys and roof , means for 4k of milage its lost £7.5k. Seems about right to me?
Considering for my ibiza for 10k of milage its lost about £5k in value (obviously has less to lose in the first place)

You said it was just over 20k

26k-7.5k isn't 20k lol

i meant if i was to order a brand new car with the exact same specs it was 26k. (which didnt include the extra alloys and black roof)

I got GAP insurance from Perry's Seat for £199, it was £299 but I got it down. The thing with buying online, you really have to read the terms & conditions. I was also considering this but was told by a friend who works at a Jag dealership that you have to be careful with online ones. So maybe try haggling a bit.

he told me 280 is best he could do and he couldnt do a penny under. I did say dont worry about it i will buy it online. But yer there so many t and c's im thinking just go with seat because i now im getting a good policy, for the sake for what could be like £50, could save me £5000 if it need it!
I paid £325 for it at last seat so still cheaper than them!

Well go for that then, because as you say a little saving here could cost you more in the future, not worth it. I was probably just lucky.

How long was your PCP on the Ibiza?

Well actually that wasn't where I was going, I'm guessing you can't carry it over.

I was just curious because I'm on a PCP and it's good to know that I can change car early if I wanted too, because I can't imagine having the same car for 3 years!

yer i did a bit of research into it before hand and got my vehicle valued and stuff and worked out 18 month in was a good time to change. nearly half way through.

When you do want to , my advise is to phone up seat finance and ask them how much you owe. Then get valuation online, although seat gave me a lot more than that valuation.

No harm in taking it into a dealer and asking though, just watch you dont just buy a car like i did!

But yer its good to know seat were more than happy to take my car off me and give me a new one.

Well so far I'm only 7 months in, and not bored yet. But it's good to know, because I will get bored. I'll want more power, more extras and such.
